Mouse Issues When Moving or Casting Spells

EDIT: I've solved the issue completely. For those experiencing this error in Windows 8.1, mouse over to the top right corner of the screen, click on Settings, click on Change PC Settings, then click on PC and Devices, then click on Mouse and Touchpad. Under the Touchpad section, there should be an option to turn off the delay after typing to make clicks work. It seems that any keyboard presses seem to trigger this delay to happen.

There should be an option in your touchpad settings that disables your mouse while you're typing. I don't think it should be happening while you're in game, but it's probably your best bet to disable it.

I've had this issue as well and tried reporting it as a bug. It does not happen on win 7. I filled out the little template and it was passed off into the not enough info area. I ultimately gave up and reinstalled 7. It is annoying as hell to not be able to left click anything while moving.

Edit: this has happened to me on every win 8 system I've messed with so it is not related to your specific machine. Something has changed with how windows handles multiple inputs or how ffxiv responds in win 8.

It doesn't seem to be an issue while I'm typing. Just while I'm moving or casting a spell, and not pressing the control key.

Are you saying that you've tried typing and using the mouse simultaneously, or are you missing that using wasd for movement (and whatever other keys for spells) might trick your system into thinking that you're typing (rather than trying to move around in a game)?

It seems that's the case. I haven't noticed it with typing, but I tested it out and I'm not able to click anything while typing and for about a second afterwards. I misunderstood the original post, sorry. I'll see if I can disable it but I haven't been able to find touchpad settings yet.

I'm not very fond of the "second Control Panel" Windows 8 and 8.1 has, I always forget to check it.
