the other open world u was thinking of was Garrisons, they were very fun at there prime, specially remember the sandy one. lots of mobs in waves but acually hard as crap. u quadruple the rate of pops in behest, make the mobs dynamic and i think we can have something just as fun. i not do behest probably since first 3months of launch lol, pointless stuff. specially past 20, that another thing they had great rewards, mannequin body parts.

sky and sea was one of my favorite types of endgame i'd say, they were very exiting and fun. and ls's were doing them like 7days a week if wanted to, that can't get any more casual if u ask me, log in and go do sky lol. beats 2days a week stuff, the wait is the bigger challenge of it and not cool. games need to get ride of timers. i can see some form of this with the quick repops of nm's we have now being very entertaining and competitive. tons of farm mobs and fast poping side nm's. maybe the more farm mobs u kill in group the higher drop rates u create on side bosses. what have u lol, i can day dream on endgame all day.

but like forbin said u don't have to do them, hell i didn't join a hnmls till my last year or so of ffxi after a 5year run, granted i killed all of them prior either way, i thought the same, didn't want to sit around all day for pops, but in long run i ended up waiting for more regular nm pops solo for loot when i could of just been rich of hnm lol. u had lots of options in ffxi to pick and chose ...hopefully this game will cater the same and have so much endgame that it leaves most normal players with the option of witch ones they want to do.

by the end of ffxi life i was doing a split of every 2weeks sky and 2weeks sea, 2 enerjah, 4salvage, 7assaults 2dynamisis, full time hnm's's all week and 1nyzle every 2weeks, throw in few times a week merits and party grinds, some ks and forget the one from cop every week to boot and i was doing endgame every day some days 3diff events in a day all day long. that is alot for most and they all aimed to please lol. by that time i was done with story missions and limbus though, my ls was doing 2 limbus runs simultaneously and shared the loots and poped nm's way fast, they rocked /shoutout. if u can say u have to do one over the other then this is way untrue and u can't be saying that they shouldn't bring out this much content either they should bring out even more this time around. choice is choice.
