Hey guys, not sure if i made a post before on this. But, just got my scholar to lvl 42, and got some fun stuff to play with!
As i'm still learning the ins and outs of the class, i've been spamming Stone Vigil for experience and learning. Here's what i've got so far. Any way i can improve?
(On a random note, to the full hq crafted penta melded, zeta wearing 110 summoner in stone vigil who rolled need on lvl 41 magic user trousers, got them, then said "yeah and what" when i mentioned it, you hurt my soul xD )
Starter :
Protect + StoneSkin + Summon Eos/Prep Aetherflow
Before Adds:
Eye for Eye Tank > Rouse > Fey Illumination > Succor
Adds pulled:
Whispering Dawn > Swiftcast Selene > Apply light or glow depending on party
Cleric Stance > Apply Dots and Bane (Spamming manual embrace on focus target tank when needed) / Help Dps.
After Dots applied:
Switched in and out of Cleric to apply adlo + embrace to those who need it, with Physick as an extra back up if falling into danger (Swiftcast in Eos for her buffs when they're back on CD)
After fight
Repeat fight prep![]()
Now, some points:
I don't use many macros. Other than one for embrace to go to focus target, I like to do things manually.
What do i do if main tank is needing some serious heals and my fairy has used embrace already?
My pet actions are on my cross hotbar, which allows me to use them situationally, and allows me to see when each pets' actions are off cooldowns.
I know everyone has their own playstyle, but to me the scholar is about damage mitigation while having the flexibility to add some awesome dps too ^^
I particularly like swifting in fairies for maximum benefit during one mob/boss battle, i don't see many doing this
(Although, as a WHM, i know it's not a great idea endgame to blow the swiftcast this way, might be needed for raises!)
What do you think guys, any way i can improve my playing? (And while i'm not AGAINST macros as a whole, i prefer to learn the job manually before going into much with macros ^-^))
Appreciate your thoughts and time!
**addition** Of course between all the above, I'm using my aetherflow and energy drain stacks to keep nice and topped up on mana![]()
