    Ivory Chapel Full Access

Ok I'm getting married in this chapel in a week, and I got full access to go inside. The chapel is beautiful and I feel peaceful when I go inside, but I noticed that access inside the chapel is limited till your wedding. I wish that you guys can change this in a patch and allow full access so people can relax inside. I love it in the chapel and relax there all the time, cause it beautiful and tranquil. I know that as a very big gamer on FFXIV I would absolutely love to have access to the chapel at any time. This would also be a curtesy to the people who designed the chapel so that people could always come see it, outside and in. As a customer I ask for you guys to please open this beautiful place for exploration, and relaxing in. Thank You!!

No. It'd end up like Gold Saucer, full of people shouting, making lewd comments and constantly casting AoE spells. The entire premise of it being a sanctuary would be destroyed.

It's sad that people would behave like that, thus creating the restriction, but you must know that people would do it. It's bad enough when a troll gets invited to a wedding & runs up & down during the ceremony.

Hmm I'm not gonna say you're fully wrong, but a compromise could be made. This could be fixed by using the same setup as the waking sands, where when you enter is just you and the npc's. I think we could even take it a step further though. I think that people in parties could be able to enter and see each other in the chapel since they're a party. I think that idea would solve your problem and mine.

Thing is, how would they arrange it? If people can go inside whenever they want, how would they be stopped from crashing weddings?

Actually they already have that set up, I was by myself in the Ivory Chapel for hours just exploring and taking pics of the place, and when I exited a wedding had just started and ended, and I was inside the whole time and I didn't crash or interfere with the wedding at all. I didn't even know it was happening. It's like there are 2 chapels, one to roam and another specified for ceremonies.

That might happen the first day or two after it's opened (if there's a lack of other new places at the same time), but if there's no draw to bring people there other than it being a pretty sanctuary, the trolls wouldn't be interested enough to hang out there for long. I really doubt it would be much of an ongoing issue.

The Waking Sands doesn't work that way. It's a public instance the same as Western Thanalan is a public instance, and you'll see any other players who are there. I've occasionally seen times when Minfilia's office got rather crowded.

But anyway, I think that so long as actual wedding ceremonies are in separate instances for just the participants and guests, a common instance open to anyone else who wants to go there would be nice.

They changed that, didn't they? I was very disappointed that I no longer was able to go in quest area instances (Minfilia's office, Kan E Senna's grove, etc) with other people who were doing the quests with me.

I don't know about the regular servers, but on Balmung, this would essentially render the Wedding chapel a prime RP spot, thus ruining it.

No thank you. Keep the chapel special, please.

Oh, did they? I guess I hadn't noticed. I know I've seen other people in there at times so it must have been public initially, but I don't actually remember when the last time was.

I don't really think of it as a quest area instance, though. There are quests there, but you can go in anytime whether you have a quest or not. (Well, you do have to be at a point in the storyline where it's accessible, but you don't specifically need to be on a quest that sends you there.) And there's more that goes on there besides the quests, with quite a few optional side-stories you get by talking to the other NPCs in that side room.

special-ly invisible? What sort of special is that?

That it would make a prime RP spot sounds like all the more reason for opening it up (so long as weddings are separately instanced so they can't be interrupted).

Opening it up renders the area swamped in multiple /say RP sessions, rendering it no longer tranqual. The area up front where people meet prior to entering a wedding instance becomes a bogged down mess, rendering it difficult to impossible to converse with your wedding party.

I really, really don't want the wedding area to turn into another Adventures Guild.
