300 DPS WAR - How are you pulling this number?

Hi guys! I am currently playing WAR in my raid. I have full STR+VIT platinum HQ accessories and 130s GEAR(Including weapon)

    I average from 205~246 from T10 to T12.

What I do is just spam SE and SP coz', I fear I might steal aggro from our MT if I SE + BB, BB combo.

I just wanna know how you guys pull 300 DPS.

    Thanks in advance!

    W-what?

Even if Defiance you should be able to pull 300+ DPS.

The most I can think is minimizing your time in Defiance and not to waste a single GCD doing nothing.

Use Berserk often and make sure you meet the Skill Speed threshold for 9 HIT Berserk, usually 390+ is safe. If you ever have to be in Defiance, for adds as an example, make sure to pair Unchained and be proactive with Holmgang to bypass a few mechanics.

I honestly don't understand much else on optimization in WAR DPS besides that. For reference I typically pull 400+ on majority of turns.

Your doing something Wrong, I MT coil as a Paladin and I'm pulling higher DPS than you. Granted I can tank efficiently in Sword oath but I'll give you my last week's numbers.

    T10- finished at 306 DPS
T11- finished at 270DPS (shield oath 90% of the fight)
T12- finished phase 1 at 328 DPS last phase at 305 DPS
    T13- Finished at 260 DPS phase 1/2 and 255 DPS phase 4

The secret is to let your healers know you will be taking more DMG than normal. If a healer is prepped and ready you can take hits that would normally kill you. I tank T10 and T12 in Sword Oath fine no problems. I have 612 STR in party, I have surprised many people with my crazy ass Tanking. I suggest reading combos and tips for WAR MT without Defiance and if you aren't Tanking take defiance off and blow shit up. The Paladin should not lose agro to you if you manage you paths and dmg efficiently. My WAR out DPS's me constantly but never takes agro even when I'm in S/O. Don't be afraid let loose push your dmg to its fullest if you take agro your MT is doing something wrong.

    Turning Defiance Off while Off-tanking

Yes. I always turn off defiance while off-tanking. I also pop (Infuriate) then (Unchained) > Overpower then SE combo > BB > BB [Turn 10 ADD phase situation].

In most situations, I gather stacks to 5 before I go tank something, so that I can pop (Unchained) right away then pop (Berserk) > (Inner Beast) > SE combo + BB combos, gather 5 stacks again then Inner Best. I also land Fractures whenever possible.

Hmm. What are you melds for everything, also do you have enough Skill Speed to effectively build Wrath faster than normal, I think WAR need 420 or 430 Skill speed to be extremely effective, and sadly the fend plat accessories don't have it, which is was many go with the STR accessories. Rotating facture in helps, I rotate it in whenever possible myself always making sure its up even tho its a massive TP drain. Look at your stats you may be hitting a huge wall there because you have to much of one thing not enough of another.

Another thing I guessed I could mention is having 100% Maim uptime, and it sounds like you go into Defiance to build Wrath stacks before using Unchained which is very unoptimal, since you do have Infuriate, which makes since much faster.

You could also be TP starved if the fight is long.

For T10 specifically, using Holmgang for Wild Charges is a pretty good DPS increase. If you reallllyyy want to see it in action, I can link you a T10 clear from my POV where I did 450 DPS a few weeks back (not my highest ), but I was on PS4 at the time so it's pretty shitty quality. You can see the parse posts at the very end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogiy1AZdA_g

I have a thread for each turn on this forum, dunno if still page 1 or not. Fair bit of discussion for each turn.

What I can't fathom is hitting 400+. 2 weeks ago, with i130 axe, I hit 370 in T10. This is with no Defiance penalty (only used with Unchained for adds, then it went off). I only used SE - BB, with full Fracture uptime on Imdugud. I also use Fracture on first adds. Second adds die too fast probably for it to matter, plus TP gets scarce at that point. I also lock on to Imdugud to maximize auto attacks. Point being, max potency the entire time, missing next to nothing (oh and I Steel Cyclone adds at end of Unchained), and yet I fail to break 400. The only thing I can think of at this point is that my secondary stats are really bad.

Last week I started as MT, and used Unchained to open, and again at start of Phase 3. At charge, we swapped. I assumed this would be a dps increase, but I only did 364.

I got Dread Axe last week though so looking forward to see what I can do.

Your starting rotation should look like this (each -> is a GCD):

    Heavy Swing -> Maim -> Internal Release/Berserk -> Storm's Eye -> HQ X-Potion of STR/Brutal Swing -> Fracture -> Heavy Swing -> Skull Sunder -> Butcher's Block

Now you repeat the Storm's Eye combo and Butcher's Block combo, tossing Fracture in whenever it's about to wear off (<3s). Stack your CDs whenever possible and don't neglect Brutal Swing.

Unless your tank is using a Bronze Sword or one of those Halone-spamming bots, you should never pull threat, because they will be using two threat combos for every one of yours (Shield Swipe permitting, of course).

Did 356 last week in Turn 10. 2 Slaying accessories 130, 3 hybrid vit/str accessories, Potent Strength Pots, Poison Pots, 9 Hit Berserk, and we got lucky and didn't have to tank swap once. I also skipped Storm's Path and just did Storm's Eye / Butcher's Block combos.
