Did we have one last year?
Yes, we did: Hatching Day, you can click here for further information: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...61c222527317a7
I am afraid Before The Fall Pt. 2 and Heavensward are keeping the team extremely busy so I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't get anything for Easter. It's a bit sad, but I have the feeling the latest events haven't been so popular. Valentione Day gave us a barding, but Little Lady's rewards were so unappealing that only a few people I know bothered completing the quest. So far, these seasonal events were interesting for people into Glamour but lately we have only seen furnitures.
However, there's an update coming in a few days .. who knows: probably it will bring us the hatching day too...
I think the big reason why the seasonal events haven't been as popular lately is because of the outdoor furniture. There's only a limited part of the population that has access to a house or a yard that they can decorate, so those rewards don't effect most of the playerbase. The design of the starlight event, and the cherry trees were really nice though, but I think the events would have been more popular if the rest of the outdoor furnishings had been replaced by either indoor furnishings or glamors or something else that everyone would have been able to use.I am afraid Before The Fall Pt. 2 and Heavensward are keeping the team extremely busy so I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't get anything for Easter. But I do think you're right though, I wouldn't expect a big list of items from the Hatchingtide event this year with the expansion so close. That's where most of their energy is going.

Also ITs really easy to fill up your yard even the big ones only have 20 spaces.
Housing rewards need to stop or at least be only one of several options.
It's feels a lot like rubbing salt into a wound for those who don't have access to housing and likely never will given the restrictions.
I don't believe it was specifically named "Easter Event", but there was a "Hatching-Tide Event" with lots of eggs involved, which many consider an Easter thing, eggs that is.
