This would be great but only for the 0.00000001% players who cant click on a function properly (cant imagine people like that during a fight lol)"Sort" command is a little too close to "Discard" command and it often happens I have a misclick on that that screws all my inventory and takes a lot to put things back like they were.
Can we have at least the option to put a Confirmation Prompt for that? There is a similar option for other Prompts already.
There is no need to make such hyperbolic comments to emphatize how stupid you think I am.
You are probably a Keyboard gamer, so you don't know that the most of us Gamepad gamer push UP-UP-X to Discard Items. Sometimes, 1 out of 500 times, we misclick UP-UP-X for UP-X and a lot of trash that we wanted to delete end shuffled between useful stuffs.
Now, I'm happy you are a brilliant player who thinks people who does that mistake are stupid players. Then yes, I'm happy to confirm, I'm a stupid player who sometimes misclick that.
Am I asking to change something that would bother you?
No, I'm simply asking to add a checkable option in the configuration menu to add that possibility.
And by the way, if the 99.99999999% of players is obnoxious as you are, I'm happy being in the latter 0.000000001%.

Ability to toggle off the sort function completely in config
I know a lot of players arrange their inventory in a certain way and sorting by accident really mess things up.
The sort function have absolutely no use to them but messing up their way of organization.
I disagree. I use sort constantly throughout the day and I have 4 retainers and do a lot of gathering and what not. This game already has confirmations up the wazzoo in fact it's awful at times. Like you gotta click a check box just to click the confirmation to delete certain items from your inventory lol.
I mean I've had those moments where I was sorting all my gathering materials I plan to sell to the bottom right of my inventory so they are away from everything else for me to easily look at and see how many I have then I accidentally sort it. Minor inconvenience that does NOT equal the inconvenience that would be created from having a confirmation box. You will waste significantly more time on a SORT confirmation window than correcting your mistakes from clicking sort accidentally.

Then dont click on "Sort" if you, i dont know... dont want to sort? Its not an automatic function.
It wont sort if you dont click. The developers did their job right.

People made a mistake once - due to lack of attention - with no serious consequence (i mean this is not like throwing a job cristal away) and then ask for a game patch to prevent this from happening again. Really?
hopefully SE has a lot of much more serious things to do.

Easier solution would be to put "Discard" farther away from "Sort""Sort" command is a little too close to "Discard" command and it often happens I have a misclick on that that screws all my inventory and takes a lot to put things back like they were.

Or play with controller. 2 push on d-pad up and you are on "Discard"

I use controller and use both sort and custom. I use sort when I have all the items in my inventory I want to keep and let the rest of the inventory slots be filled up as I play through out the day. Then I sort what I got manually...in reverse. I put all the stuff I want to hand in for GC seals at the very bottom and the stuff I want to sell to npc right after it while keeping the stuff I want to throw to my retainer right after all the sorted inventory from before. Then I keep playing again until I stop by a city. I have never accidentally auto sorted my inventory.
Prompts for this are absolutely unnecessary.
