Pretty please? I was hoping to gamble at the Golden Saucer and the current gambling is pretty weak.

Actually I was also hoping to gamble and really surprised there was no gambling besides daily or weekly stuff. I really wish SE didn't make the gold saucer so stingy on gains. Like I get it, they don't want people to burn through content in a day but gold saucer wasn't supposed to be for the hardcore people who like to burn through content in 5 minutes then move on to the next game. It could have been designed differently. I really don't have any suggestions though I just have empty disappointment >_>
I mentioned this before but jokingly said that people would be pretty addicted to it...
So I think it'll cause some really bad gambling problems but a really good Gil sink.
there probably wont be any slot machines or anything like that because any game with gambling in the eu automatically gets an 18 pegi rating i'm pretty sure
There is are legal things with actual "Gambling" in some states in the US, even in video games. I remember back in XI when they first announced the annual Mog Lottery in that game they had to jump through hoops and make it a certain way as not to break the law. It was one of the reasons why it took them so long to implement it back in that game...it might be the same thing.
Really don't see a problem with this as long as it's in game currency, i.e. gil or mgp.
We also already have sooo many technical forms of gambling in the game. Crafting RNG, relic RNG to just name a couple. Why stop one form but allow others?
Laws against gambling in a video game when real life money is not involved...

I think it also has to do with the RMT problem and iirc they said something about wanting to avoid dealing with the gambling laws in each country they sell ffxiv in. They probably have an idea of how many players buy gil so they would probably run into some issues down the line with using real life money to fund your gambling addiction in the gold saucer. Besides, if the gilsellers were really good at that type of thing they'd just have another outlet for potentially fast gil creation. That's assuming the gambling would involve gil and not just MGP.
Actually with the rating ARR has and it being an online game where you can potentially BUY Gil to use in game to GAMBLE, does make it a real life law issue, have you heard of online gambling? You Gamble online for coins(Gil) that you bought buy using your real money and then you can convert them, however you have to be of legal gambling age in order to do so and being underage can cause some grief between the website, you, and the law.
A good read if you are interested in learning:
Don't want to read, basically its illegally legally illegal. According to the Federal Government (US) Online Gambling is illegal, so to work around this the servers are located out of the US, however by transferring those winnings to the states you can also be pegged as a law-breaker. So where do FFXIV fit into this. The fact that we (players) are able (although not supposed to from the FFXIV ToS) to buy gil using actual dollars, in turn then being able to use said bought gil for gambling, it can be considered illegal. So again, its the MAIN reason why it took FFXI like 7 years after the launch before the Mog Lottery (and people wanted it long prior), but what took so long was because the area was a gray area in the law books. And if the Feds in the US see a company making lots of money and there is a gray area, why wouldn't they pursue that and try to get a cut of the cash? (This is the Feds we are talking about) So, please don't post your meme pictures before you read into what your commenting on, its gonna make you look sillier than the meme you posted.
As is weekly lottery is different?
I'd LOVE a slot machine -- it can even give us the same amount of points as the minigames
