I don't remember that earring at all. But then I missed a lot of 1.0 events because the game wasn't that great so I didn't play it often. Had I known what was going to be exclusive I would have gone out of my way to get more items/titles.

For everyone saying, "Well, you don't deserve anything, you should have played 1.0, nyeh!"... Well, a whole hell of a lot more of us would have been playing along in 1.0, "suffering" right alongside you, through such an "awful" game, if SE had fulfilled their promise and released 1.0 on the PlayStation 3 as advertised! Hell, if I looked long enough through my Reciept Drawer of Holding, I bet I could find my GameStop preorder slip for it!
SO.

The Moonlet erring is a one-time Event "Hunting Moon" back in early of 1.0 so the player who join in at later 1.0 will not have it and some of the 1.0 player remove it (throw it away). So yeah, you don't deserver it and stop ask for our back tattoo.

But it's not an argument of semantics. 1.23 only existed because of people that paid, legacy or not. 2.0 was already on the way when people were being charged. To say that people subscribing to 1.0 made SE decide to make 2.0 is just rewriting history and it is ignoring the fact that ARR had been in development for a year before anyone was charged and that 1.0 was still being serviced/worked on. There's no way that the subscriptions of 1.0 players could sustain the development of 2 games (2.0 and 1.0) and the upkeep of one (1.0), when it couldn't even sustain the development of 1. SE didn't make or fund a new game because people started paying for a game that they couldn't get people to play while it was free. The lack of 1.0 subscriptions would have resulted in one thing, the earlier sunsetting of 1.0.
I don't know how I missed out on so many 1.0 events. Guess I was more in to playing XI that i didn't log in FFXIV except for once a month.
I want one two, there are a lot of things from 1.0 that i would like, and i feel like an idiot for not trying the game now.
but i would be happier if they were to stay with the 1.0 players. those are their memories after all, the good and the bad. the meaning and significance i feel would be lost on me if i were to have them.
I played A LOT of 1.0 but I somehow missed this event.. I'd totally be okay with having a way to obtain it in ARR. >w>
I was in 1.0 and never got any reward for it and I don't really care, it'd be nice, but apparently only some FFXIV 1.0 players get the rewards and those who didn't play long enough in 1.0 (more like suffered long enough...) don't get jack shit. I don't really know what I was getting at here... Either way your attitude is sucky. The Moonlet erring is a one-time Event "Hunting Moon" back in early of 1.0 so the player who join in at later 1.0 will not have it and some of the 1.0 player remove it (throw it away). Who the hell even cares, like really, if it makes other people happy, shouldn't that be enough for everyone? Or are you all really that petty and selfish? I'm only saying this because the huge fuss is over some fashion baubles. Like who even gives a flying monkey's shit over this? Apparently some do...
Yeah, I am very sorry for being sucky, petty & selfish for having different opinion than your. You make me sad and I have decide to hit my head to the pillow and suicide.I was in 1.0 and never got any reward for it and I don't really care, it'd be nice, but apparently only some FFXIV 1.0 players get the rewards and those who didn't play long enough in 1.0 (more like suffered long enough...) don't get jack shit. Despite of all the "I don't care" you throw out, I believe all the red mark show you do care enough and you want the earring, that s why you are here to support it.
I am also 1.0 player and I play since....not lucky enough to get into beta but I did pre-order the CE box and play the game the first day it goes live. I don't have the dalamud horn. I quit before beat Garuda so I have never finish the 1.0 story line. DO I ask for the horn ? no, it is because I don't deserves it, I was not there to finish the 1.0 story line.
The Dalamud Horn is proof the player have clear 1.0 story line
The Moonlet Earring are proof the player had joined that one-time event
The legacy Tattoo is proof the character had paid (you don't have to play, just paid and you get it) at the campaign
The Gobbue...ppl do have one similar so they will not complain or request this one.
IF you are not there to do the special one-time event or finish the 1.0 story line, you don't deserves it. You can take the Moonlet Earring like the Lightning event, it is one time and it should not come back ever again, because FFXIII- Lightning Return promotion is over
ps: it appear having a smile at the end of an argument cannot stop the negative comment

That depends. Is everyone else petty and jealous?
I certainly hope not. And I certainly don't believe most 'new' players are.
They want to make a recolor, by all means, let them. But understand that things like this where meant to reward players for experiencing those events as they played out. A hallmark of the times in which they occurred. That's part of what makes them unique. They carry a little more weight being connected to the games development from 1.0 to ARR.
If people did not participate in these specific events, why should they get these specific participation trophies?
