I was too poor to afford to subscribe when 1.0 was out (although I got the game as a present, so I played it for 30 days)... Now I'm old enough to work, why should I be punished because I wasn't old enough for something? If they ever considered re-releasing the items, I'd be able to hopefully learn the lore behind them through quests or something, so I too could experience a bit of 1.0.

It makes me sad when I hear new players call Louisoix "that old guy,"

I could barely play the game so I never got to meet him in game. however the video of "end of an Era" made me immediately think of Maat from FFXI. an NPC which I respected yet hated at the same time. a teacher and a defiant being. the look on the face of Louisoix when confronted with Bahamut was one of Defiance. and I immediately wished I could have experienced his story. made me feel sad that I missed it.

please stop with the 1.0 vs 2.0 BS. it isn't cool and it isn't right. 2.0 players didn't save the game from oblivion, Yoshi-P and his dev team did. you 2.0 players should in that case kiss his butt for the game we have now.

As a 1.0 player, my opinion on the matter is as follows, not everything that occurred in 1.0 has to be locked away. There were specific items that were promised as part of the legacy campaign and those should stay exclusive to legacy players. Everything else imo is fair game as long as it stays within the lore. If the team decided to come up with an event that made sense to give out their earrings, fine, it is an asset that the devs created, did not promise as an exclusive to anybody, and as such, they should be able to do what they please with it. No one is better or worse for playing or not playing a game.

I am a legacy player that almost got the dalamud horn. I got the fight down to the last few percent so many times. I was gutted I couldn't get it. At the time I found it nearly impossible to get parties. I remember standing in uldah shouting for hours (yeah for pf & df) would love a chance to go back and finish that fight & finally get it.

Guys. Any 1.0 cosmetic item - retainer venture rewards. Can be rare enough (see Gysahl Ring), and can totally fit the lore to have the retainer find it in the mud somewhere deep in the Twelveswood, for example and picking up ans bringing it home because it looked curious enough.

I totally agree that Legacy items should NOT be available anymore by any means, especially not in a cash shop! He is right, we don't deserve them because we weren't there and didn't earn them. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, we are not entitled to the item or even a recolored version simply because "we want it" (and I definitely do want a couple Legacy items). If its not your fault you couldn't earn it, it doesn't change the fact that you did not earn it. Sorry, it sucks you didn't have the opportunity to earn those items but again the fact remains you didn't earn them. So just like me, you don't deserve them.

In my mind, getting offended simply because someone said "you don't deserve" something is a little bit like "special snowflakeism"(that's not a word). If you feel you do deserve it even though you didn't earn it, that's entitlement. If you don't feel you necessarily deserve it, then the statement was true and relevant to the discussion and therefore you have absolutely no reason to feel offended.

the event for the moonlet earring was still within the 15 months long "extended free month". Sub didn't start before january 2012.

This sentiment goes both ways, however. Legacy players and 1.0 players can't lay claim to items that were never guaranteed exclusively to them through the legacy campaign. The Moonlet Earrings were given out during an event while 1.0 was still free. Nobody "earned" them by sticking around and paying a subscription. All things from 1.0 do not fall under the legacy umbrella and frankly, a paying customer can and should ask for them if they don't and they want them. He is wrong. He is trying to say that items that were never guaranteed to be exclusively his/hers, somehow fall under perks guaranteed through the legacy campaign which is just a complete overreach. None us are entitled to anything beyond agreements/promises made with the dev team.

Everyone really just needs to stay in their lanes when it comes to 1.0 assets. 2.0 players are not guaranteed a chance to obtain legacy Perks. 1.0/Legacy players are not guaranteed exclusivity over all 1.0 assets not promised to them as perks.
