    As someone playing in México, yes, I would like to see something done about he mudras and lag issues.
    Client operation of the mudras sounds like a good suggestion to still keep the "no skills while mudraing" factor.
    However also removing the "no skills while mudraing" factor alone could potentially reduce the mudra lag issue, even if mudras' CD were upped to 1 second as a drawback (just for example)

    Personally, in order to play Ninja the most efficiently I have to rely on WTFast, albeit the free version, and even HAD to contract a different internet connection in order to up my efficiency, and even then my ping is never below 120.

    I still do love the mudra system tho, that quick thinking of which buttons combinations to go for in order to get the skill I desire and do a quick perfect execution is quite nice.

    We aren't really asking for a lag reduction but a way to reduce how much the lag affects the Ninja playability.

    I've been making threads since the beginning of ARR asking for changes to the atrocious net code. Instant abilities (including mudra) are awfully coded in this game and they need serious work. Most players are still in denial though and claim that these issues are intended or that there's nothing wrong with the notched.

    Would it be game-breaking or unbalanced if the Mudra had 0 cast time instead of its current 0.5 second cast?

    It would make the situation worse - anyone next to a server would have 0 cast time and anyone far from it would have a cast time of AT LEAST their latency.
    Instead, they should increase the cooldown of mudras to 1 second which gives you time to queue the next mudra (and react to them like normal skills), and buff the nijutsus accordingly.

    With the "send only nijutsu" packet thing, you give up server side checking that is everywhere else in this game. It might be possible for someone to make an app/addon that simply sends the nijutsu (i.e. 1 button raiton etc) and anyone not using it would be at a disadvantage. But the main problem is that SE would probably not accept this method due to standards or something, or having to change other parts of the system.

    I don't know of your circumstances, but I know the infrastructure of the internet in the U.S is shoddy. Perhaps it's more of an ISP issue? What's your ping btw? I'd be interested to know the latency of a West coast U.S player compared to latency of an East coast player.
    I'm in the midwest. My ping usually hovers around 50-70ms unless level3 saw its shadow, and then it's more.

    Maybe, but now you're talking about not fixing a problem because someone's going to manipulate packets to make playing ninja marginally easier. Third party software is already against the ToS and it's a pretty awful reason to cheat. The basic design for ninja wants the hand signs to be done very quickly, but the implementation doesn't allow for that. That's what needs to be fixed.

    Which ditching the mudra input and adding the animations to the skills themselves would fix all this. The whole reason I can see for this silly system is to save hotbar space and to stay in the same amount of skills learned at certain point in relation to the other jobs. Ditching the mudra's only adds 2 skills to our Hotbars at this time.

    Just to restate it. They can leave the mudra's in the game so they don't have to re-write the story and make the jutsu's add able to the hotbar and act in the way I have been saying. that way we get to choose which we want to use. the new way or the old way.

    I agree with the people saying the madras should go away. in the concept it was a really cool idea but in practice is terrible. we should just get the jutsu hotkey
