Pharos Sirius has my favorite music too. The music sounds like...well, a siren song. OP, what exactly do you think it should sound like? Mind providing an example?

I love Pharos Sirius' theme. My only problem with this dungeon is that the BGM isn't played the whole dungeon...

Okay then. that's what I'll do. I'll tell you a story. Can you hear them? All these people who lived in terror of you and your judgement. All these people who's ancestors devoted themselves to you, sacrificed themselves to you. Can you hear them singing?

I'll redo Pharos Sirius just for that then gotta enjoy it ^^.
Oh no now you said sample a song all I can think about its the Simpson s episode where marges sisters are mermaids! (Not what I had in mind) what I was thinking of was a beautiful melodic harmony that is quite haunting, with more reference to her harp. I see a lot of you really like this music, the best bit for me is the opening but to me it still sounds like a schoolboy choir rather than an enticing mermaid. I find the notes to high and sound a bit strained if that makes any sense. The odd notes she does whilst fighting don't seem to go with anything (and sound like an opera singer gargling). I'll see if I can find some music that would be better (for me anyway). I like siren from other ff games too which is why I was more disappointed I guess. I was hoping for more from fenrir and diablos too.

Don't touch my Pharos Sirius!

Honestly no offense OP, but I'm just not really understanding where you're coming from with this. "Through the Gloom" is such a beautiful song! Especially the Extended version <3 (I was soooo happy they released that for us to hear, and put inside the dungeon!) I personally feel it does fit Siren and the dungeons theme quite well.
It's as if a lost maiden is beckoning the adventurers with her call to climb the light house to save her (but really to their doom!) The haunting melodies in the song, remind me of Siren playing her harp, and the higher pitched vocals we hear remind more of Siren, not "choir boys."
As for Siren's look, I don't get why you are trying to think of mermaids. Sirens throughout mythology have been depicted more bird-like than fish-like or "mermaid"-like. So imagining Sirens as "mermaids" really doesn't quite bring up any images I would personally associate as a Siren.
I personally LOVE Siren's look compared to her FFVIII look, but not much pleased me in VIII, so I'll leave that at that...
Anywho, I enjoy the song very much! It's absolutely one of my favorite from ARR's soundtrack. I personally think it fits Siren and the dungeon to a T.

Actually in some languages (including Italian, which descends from Latin and Greek), "Sirena" is the word used to translate the english "Mermaid", so I get where the OP is coming from. However, you are in the right to. To better explain...As for Siren's look, I don't get why you are trying to think of mermaids. Sirens (Σειρῆνες, Sirenes o Sirēnae) are among the most popular and common mythological figures in folklore, literature and art of ancient Greece and, by reflection, of ancient Rome. It is in fact in the greek folklore of VII-V b.C. and monuments of that same age that we find them represented in their definitive and complete look of "genies of death", to the same level of Keres and Erinni, as beings belonging to the gloomy and feared army of Ecate in which also belong Harpies, Lamiae and Thanatos himself. They are no other but souls of the dead that did not receive relief with proper rituals of burial; and as they did not receive the purification through said rituals, they live with desire and lust for blood and attempt to lure mortals, charming and seducing them.
Modern attempts to explain the etimology of Sirens are many and not fully certain: some have connected the name to the Semitic root "sir" ("song"); others have instead pointed at the greek σειρά "rope", and so translating "siren" as "she who binds, she who subdues"; others have connected the names of sirens to σείριος "what shines, what burns", seeing them as the impersonification of a sun mirage.
Sirens already appear in the Omero (Odissey, XII, 39-54; 158-200). Circe describes them to Ulysses as the muses of the sea, charming sailors with their songs, and in fact, when Ulysses's ships is near their territory, winds fall and the sweet voice of Sirens is heard, calling Ulysses.
Their look gained content and shapes more and more definite only through time: depending on their essence as souls of the dead, they were thought and drawn as winged creatures, or even with bird traits, or women with the lower body in the shape of a fish. Speculations of their origins have fables of them being playmates of Persephone, transformed in birds by Demetra, as a punishment for coming in aid of their goddess friend when Ades came to kidnap her. As for their extinction, it was believed that they took their own lives when their charm would fail, as in Ulysses's case; or even that upon losing on a singing contest with the Muses they had been turned into rocks as a punishment.
(source: I'm a big big greek/roman mythology enthusiast and have an excessive amount of books about this).

She just looks bad here. Her best look is this. I was hoping she looked more Elegant...I dunno, just wasHonestlyAs for Siren's look, I don't get why you are trying to think of mermaids. very disappointed in her concept in XIV.
@Saseal.
You're putting your left leg in and out the entire fight.
Incredibly underwhelming. We could of used like sound barrier
or something where everyone has their own respective barrier to ignore her singing.
Or do something to interrupt her singing, I'd like more environment handeling stuff against bosses like SVHM.

Depending on the language (mostly Latin-based ones such as Italian, Spanish or French), the word used for them (Sirena/Sirene/etc.) is applied for both, mermaid the half-fish, AND siren the harpy.
So for anyone who's not a native (English) speaker, I can see why they'd be confused on her account.
As for the music, I found Pharos Sirius to be VERY fitting (enticing voice with a touch a sadness), but eh...different strokes, different folks, I guess...
