Just witnessed a newbie get kicked from Praetorium.

I like my runs to go fast too, but this is simply unacceptable behavior. If you talk before hand and the new players are willing to skip CS and move on then kudos. Other than that there is NO reason to kick and or force players behind.

The game is giving you a bonus for them to be there as SE understands that it might take 10-15 minutes longer to finish the content. If your missing a RAID or your FC needs you... plan your day better.

Why oh why do people let other people do this?

I avoid main scenario roulette like the plague now. The amount of drama that goes on in there is not worth my time and sanity.

I don't do main scenario anymore unless if there's someone in fc asking for help, then I will go and help. I don't even see the reason why impatient people go to do main scenario if they don't have time to wait for newbs.

Very disappointed in people right now. This is not the way to welcome new people to the game.

The difference in quality of humans you encounter in FFXIV pre-50 and post-50 are like night and day. When i joined this game, I had not so much a single flame in a duty or dungeon, but the moment i hit Castrum/Prae it was like i stepped into a different game.

It's awful, I agree, and I would've voted No if I had been there but this is sadly the state of the community. What's really horrifying is that I've been told by many people that FFXIV is the best mmo community they've ever seen. That's disturbing. I shudder to think what other mmos are like.

It's usually the people who've been playing the longest in MMOs who are the worst people to be around. Something about the grind does things to their minds. FFXIV has very little grind associated with it, which is probably why the community is alot more laidback.

The Story Mode "LEETS" are the worst of the lot. Somewhere between cockroaches and pond scum. Who gets to act like that when running such powder puff content? And for what? Soldiery tomes??? Hahaha

It's true. I don't do main scenarios either anymore because of the drama and like the expectations to finish it so fast it's like the players are trying to set a new world record for fastest dungeon completion in an MMORPG. I remember this tank pulled so fast in Castrum he actually did that trick where you skip all the mobs by locking them out of the boss arena and I got locked out with the enemies cuz like no communication he was doing that and apparently I was the only 'retard' not following along with it. So I died and said, "Can you slow it a down a little wtf" and of course the reply was, "STFU I've done this 100 times now and tend to do it fast. Keep up or we'll kick you"

Of course the other players were complacent so whatever. I just shut up at that point and will no longer queue for main scenario.

Wtf? I've never understood people's problem with not letting people watch cutscenes in Praetorium. Prae is a basically fully story dungeon. Yeah, Ultima's fun, but they're probably running it for the tome bonus...in which case the whole point of you running it is so there's a new person who might want to see the cool story cutscenes...and yet you don't care. Seriously? I get the cutscenes are long, but if you don't want to deal with that, then do another damn dungeon for tomes. You are literally running Praetorium so you get a newbie but you don't want a newbie.

Tbh, to this day, 14-15 months after finishing Praetorium, I still haven't watched its cutscenes because I'm too scared of missing everything (every. single. run. I've ever seen, someone watched the cutscenes and everyone else ran right into the boss room and started...even just a few months after launch). I really need to re-queue now and not care...Maybe the newbie would be a healer, too, and we'd get to laugh at them all die when they locked us out.

FFXIV has very little grind associated with it

Relic questline says hi. Crafting and gathering and fishing say hi. PvP says hi. GS says hi. Gearing up says hi. Chocobo breeding/raising says hi. Basically everything beyond 50 are waving hi frantically....

Stories like this make me die a little, inside. This game is supposed to be fun. I have the most fun helping others. Even if you don't enjoy that so much, how could you kick someone just for being new (like you once were)?

Wow. At the end of the day, after I've cleared final coil, worked my butt off to get my gatherers and crafters geared, it's all about helping out. And in return, people help me out. That's community. What makes the game great. That's what makes all the grinding worth it IMO.
