This is a petition started by a nice person that wishes to continue ffxi.

There's an English translation about halfway down the page.

Petitioning for more expansions and more story for the game many love, many grew up on, and many play to this day.

I know this post may very well get locked. So please help while you can. And mods please keep this unlocked if possible, and even go sign yourselves. =)

the thing is the game has gone for 15 years, they should leave the servers on or let fans create there servers and drop the subscription so fans can continue playing it, but it is a old game it has to end sooner or later.

But many more of us don't like what SE did with XI in these later years and no longer wish to play it and prefer it to let it end in peace. I was one of the last of all my many friends to keep playing it especially after server closings, level cap removals, increased running speeds to make the world feel smaller, trivializing leveling, etc. I'm sorry, but the game just isn't what it used to be.

It's time to focus on new projects, like FFXIV for example.

They should just let the game go free to play or at the very least allow those with an active FFXIV sub to play FFXI for free.

As far as new content, it really has had a good run and I think it would be best to let it be.

Honestly the fact they are still going to keep the servers running is more than could be asked for.

Free to play isn't that simple. There needs to be a source or revenue somewhere to pay for server expenses, staff and whatnot. They can't keep leaking money onto the servers just so people can keep logging in.
