Doing a search online it says you get a stat point every level to put on and I'm fairly certain it said that ingame to however looking at my character I certainly havn't had 15 of them, what's up with that?

The first class I chose was a caster class with int as a primary stat so I put all my bonus stats into int. My second class however is str based are the bonus stats from each class kept separate or are they part of a pool? If I level both classes to 15 and from one of them I put all my points into int and in the other I put them all into str do I now have the bonus points of both on my toon or of just one of the classes on the class?
You get to spend a total of 30 talent points for each class you play on your way to level 50. They are seperate as well. Points you use on a Marauder for example are not used if you play an Archer.
There is only one class which is a bit complicated. And that's the Arcanist. Most classes in the game lead to only one job. Marauder leads to Warrior. Conjurer leads to White Mage etc. Only Arcanist leads to two jobs. Scholar and Summoner.
Summoner uses the same stats as Arcanist (Intelligence as primary), but Scholar requires Mind since it's a healer job. And since the jobs draw their talent points from the class they originate from, you have to make a choice there. Fortunately you can buy tomes at your Grand Company quartermaster for 250 seals each to "respec" (to put it into WoW terms).
