I agree it's an issue. I'd be happy with an optional keyword chat filter that allows the user to input keywords to filter tells. Filtering out tells with "gil" and www" would negate 99.9% of my tell spam.

What about just the whole darn tell/say is filtered (meaning the whole phrase itself). Also it might carry into other chat modes (so 'www' only text filter is also quite unfeasible, this also agrees with the person who mentioned the 'gil' text filter).
