Well, then. I guess the main question is: are there more people willing to take a stand as I described than there are those willing to buy gil?
considering that since less than 10% of the ffxiv populaton even reads the forums, the amount of people willing to tae a stand in this manner is insignificant to their bottom line.
100 players cancelling their subscription wont hurt square in the slightest. Unless you have a plan for tapping a larger subsection of players, without breaking this rule from the forum rules http://support.na.square-enix.com/ru...la=1&tag=forum:
Then i doubt it.Posting aimed to create a negative impact on the community or its members.
Although it does hit a grey line, there is a big difference between "conplaining to SE about things being screwed up", and actively attempting to incite a scenario that affects the only thing SE cares about: the profit lines.
I would not be surprised to see less leniency, and a stricter enforcement of the rules for it, so toeing the line is prudent, in order to get the point across without drawing penalties.
Dont get me wrong. You mean well, and I agree that you have the right idea, I am just warning on the execution. I would rather this succeed, rather than get struck down in the initiation.
im on your side here.
Fortunately, Square's rules only apply to Square's forums. There are numerous sites to post including but not limited to ZAM, massivelyop, mmorpg.com, tentonhammer, mmosite, etc.,etc, etc.considering that since less than 10% of the ffxiv populaton even reads the forums, the amount of people willing to tae a stand in this manner is insignificant to their bottom line.

And in fact, it doesn't even have to be FFXIV exclusive. An actual day where ALL anti-RMT gamers in ALL mmos collectively make their displeasure known to their respective mmo devs via the most useful tool at their disposal: their wallet.

and what about the console gamers. How many people do you know, that play on playstations, that dont even have a PC? the dont even look at any of these sites? FFXIV is unique in that aspect, that they can tap the masses of people who do not stay actually informed, and only play because they saw it at gamestop and it looked fun.Fortunately, Square's rules only apply to Square's forums. However, I support the initiative. if you need any direct help setting it up, feel free to contact me in-game and i may be able to help out.

At the risk of making myself feel old, in this age, how many people have smart phones? Probably a ton. People can look up the forums on their forms without the need of a PC. I know of several posters here that usually post via their phones.and what about the console gamers. Two: They can go online using their PS4s now. If they are playing ARR then they obviously have an internet connection. They can browse the lodestone via PSN. "They don't have a PC, therefore they don't read the forums" doesn't hold much water. THAT SAID however, they still probably don't browse the lodestone even though they have access to it without a PC.
They've had internet browser access since PS3 was released. Plenty of console gamers in general keep up with the web. Otherwise sites like Gameinformer and Gamespot would have collapsed long ago. I'm sure plenty of PS3/PS4 players of FFXIV have been using Lodestone regularly.

Sorry I meant PS3/4 has internets access. I hope you're right. I hope lots of people at least read this thread even if they don't want to post. Build as much awareness as possible. If game journalism gets involved and writes stories about SE's lack of (adequate) care in RMTs, more people would know. They've had internet browser access since PS3 was released.
