It doesnt matter what the punishment is, or how they advertize it. They could give lifetime IP bans to the gil buyer, and all of his friends and family. and everyone who ever sold him an item, and it still wouldnt make a difference.

People who buy gil, do so under the false confidence that they wont get caught.
