Formal Letter to SE about RMT situation.

Dev's, moderators please address this issue with some kind of response, it is awful on server, I get a friend request, sometimes 2 before I can even see my character. It feels like you are giving all of us the finger and I can only assume you are profiting or benefiting by this in some way at our expense, I promise you that when I eventually quit over this, I will not not come back, I never come back. I have a really hard time understanding your position, you launched this game it was awful, you listened to the players and relaunched and it is much better. Listen to us again. I have to go busy, it isn't right and have multiple friend requests before I can even set it. I would feel SOOOOO much better if you just commented in this thread that you actually care.

This has really put me in a bad position. I am Master of a small FC of Family and friends. I started going busy, people asked, why? then, how do you it? Ect. Now everyone in my Free Company is busy, we know why we are busy, but it feels wrong, and now busy doesn't mean what it used t mean. It used to mean, "I am trying to get something done, and I unavailable to help" it was almost never used and it was respected, now busy means nothing . I moved tells to the event folder and removed the ding BUT I am now a master crafter and have missed a bunch of requests for help that I would have loved to have responded to. Address this publicly and fix it. Your silence and lack of action appears cowardly.

Well put. Part of the meaningful social aspect of the game is going wayward, albeit slowly, for a lot of us. /tell chat is pretty important. As is being able to converse with groups without being bombarded with chat spam from RMT. Some, such as myself, don't even bother with /busy and simply adapted to ignore all /tells and blocked out the side of the screen that the Friend Requests appear on. I notice it, but to the same degree that I notice a change in footstep sounds or weather effects after traversing to the same place for the thousandth time... which is pretty much never.

It's interesting, as this problem has been a primarily NA related one... just like the notoriously bad customer service that SE was/is known for has been a primarily NA related one. I wonder if we're slowly reliving this now in a redirected manner LOL. If anyone dealt with or heard the horror stories of dealing with SE CS during the FFXI glory days, they'd probably know what I'm referring to. They were, for the most part, unbelievably useless when it came to localized problems.

Thanks for bringing up one of the lesser-discussed problems arising from this RMT flood. When people don't have the proper tools to deal with a problem, they seek out alternatives that can be adapted to use in their place. The /busy status has an intended use and meaning, which is now unavailable due to its widespread use for hiding from spam instead.

Sigh. RMT and botting is only going to get immensely worse. The ban wave on wow has the botters talking about moving to here because of how lax it is according to them. I left wow to get away from the pay to win by botting crowd. They are bad mouth toxic neck breathers that think since they can bot 50 million gil and have teleport hacks and perfect rotation bots they are better then everyone else.
