I've been seeing an increase in RMT lately. I couldn't tell if they were banned or not but if they are. Then damn cause I've been getting 3x the amount of Gisselle's and friend requests and I dont go into busy even with all the RMT even if it is annoying.

As always, players are insisting developers to resolve problems created by players.
Ban gil buyers in your FC, boot them from party, refuse to party them and shame them openly. (yes I agree this is pretty extreme)
Like shark fins or any other endangered species. STOP the eating (buying) and the killing (selling) will STOP!
How would you even know if someone is a gilbuyer? It's not like they come out and admit it. Yeah, players did indeed create this problem you're right. But again, just telling players to "stop buying gil" or some such thing is not going to cause this problem to stop. This problem is not solvable by the players at this point, which is why we turn to the devs/SE.As always, players are insisting developers to resolve problems created by players.

Posted a reply up here because I'm at my post limit for the day. I just let the chat log be since a couple weeks ago. I realized having to remove people from my already full blacklist just to add new ones who spammed me every minute was actually more effort than just leaving the chat log alone. It's just not even worth it for me to blist anymore. All my /tells go to a separate tab now and the chime sound has been disabled. Anyone who sends me a /tell for anything will be ignored because I rarely look at my /tells as it just disgusts me every time I look at them.

Let me check with all the members of my FC.As always, players are insisting developers to resolve problems created by players.

Well I'm not buying gil.
After a through interrogation with all 1 of my active members of the FC, I've kicked all 0 of the people who were buying gil. I don't party or invite strangers who admit to taking part of RMT. I still see a problem with RMT, and yet, I've done everything I personally can to stop it.
Boy I wish I saw the world in black and white like you.As always, players are insisting developers to resolve problems created by players.

Yes players buy gil. But that's not really the only variable involved here now is it? Players need a reason to want to buy gil or need a reason to feel it is necessary to buy gil. Who does the responsibility for that fall upon? After all you do realize SE released a game with a free player market in which all players can be (if they choose) to be entirely self-suffcient. They can advance every crafting profession to cap on just one character. They can farm whatever materials they could ever need and dont even have to compete for nodes since they're entirely character based. This essentially created a very WEAK economic model for the player economy. As a result gil doesnt exactly come falling from the sky in coffers just from normal play, at least not at the level where players set prices on the items that really make a difference (which stem primarily from SE deciding to make a few key materials quite a bit harder to come by).
So no this isn't JUST a player created problem. It takes a little from SE's theory of design as well. But that really is irrelevant when you get down to it. RMT exist in every MMO that is any kind of successful so whether or not you have buyers, they're still going to advertise here. In fact if you could actually get EVERYONE who buys to stop buying, the spam would probably actually increase. Why? Because they're going to wonder where all their buyers went, but they're not going to worry about that for too long because their solution will just be to try to go find more buyers. In the form of MORE SPAM. So Stop people from buying, fine. But that is not going to do anything for the advertisement spam at this point. and I'm more than willing to bet that if you asked the question "Which came first the tell spam or the gil buyer?" The answer is going to be the tell spam. Otherwise how is the buyer going to know the service is out there?
Furthermore that advertisement spam from botting software. Which to be honest isn't something we, as players can combat. Not without some tools that SE has to give us first.
So, climb off that really tall horse you got there.

this is a 100% player problem, if players didn't buy gil then prices wouldn't be so inflated. ppl gotta have their stuff now...
But the player-base is hardly a singular blob with a single consciousness. The people who want the RMT problem fixed would probably ban any buyer if they had the knowledge of and the power to.
So we're forced to make posts on the forum to attempt to get our voice heard by SE, who actually has the power to investigate and ban players.
