Good to see you're back. If there was anyone who hated RMT more than me, it was you. Like other players have said, there hasn't been anything done about this other than restricting friend requests to 5 per day. I just gave up on that front as you may have assumed. I myself have recently un-subbed. Surprisingly not because of RMT or lack of measures against them, but of lazy design and luck based progression.
Good luck on your continued call to action against RMT, and your book as well!

Unfortunately, I think they have figured out when the time is to create characters on the medium-high population servers, such as lamia. Only time character creation is open is early morning PST. The spam is alive and well on Lamia![]()

Good luck on your continued call to action against RMT, and your book as well!. My hatred of RMT stems from way back in early FF11 days where they completely destroyed my gil source(had a hard time making gil ever since). Since then I've seen them ruin countless games, so yes. Sorry to hear you've unsubbed Landric, but having unsubbed for months earlier, I can't blame you. Best of luck in whatever you do, and hope to see you back someday!
Not sure if this as been mentioned before, not gonna scroll through 146 pages of content to find out but here's an easy fix in my opinion:
Players with the "NEW PLAYER STATUS" shouldn't be able to SEND friend requests. They can receive them, and if they are received they can THEN send tells to that person.
Players with the "NEW PLAYER STATUS" shouldn't be able to SEND tells, UNLESS they are on that person's friends list. There is no need, they can chat in say or party chat. Or in FC if they join one.
You don't have to scroll through 146 pages, I have a list of suggestions at the bottom of the OP that have been accumulated from the entire thread, as I know no one would read through all that. Not sure if this as been mentioned before, not gonna scroll through 146 pages of content to find out but here's an easy fix in my opinion:

In the two weeks since I started playing my blacklist is almost full already.
Getting really annoying.

With the new Humble Bundle that has ARR for a little over $4 expect massive waves of RMT.
Naoki Yoshida:
Source: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/113554 at 1:14:22...Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

My theory is that SquareEnix WANTS the RMT spam to annoy you so you report the tell-spammer so SE can ban them and the spammer buys another sub. My suggestion: NEVER report the tell spammers, it's a waste of time. GL getting SE to implement any kind of filtering system.. it would oh cause them to.lose a ton of revenue... And cancelling subs won't work considering if my theory is correct... it would take a mass e,modus roof approximately 40% of their customer base to make it lucrative for them to implement a filtering system for incoming tells...
Until the subs that run on stolen info suffers a charge back, then that costs money
