Formal Letter to SE about RMT situation.

You know what's really strange? Some people get besieged by RMT and some hardly ever get tells. Take my three characters on Sargatanas for example. This one has a whaopping 50 on the blacklist..and since HW maybe received a whole 6 tells. My other two characters are fairly drowned by RMT the second they log on. Both of them have full BLs

I haven't gotten many of them since HW(mostly likely because of queue on Excalibur the first few weeks).

We don't have a queue anymore on Excalibur.

I got *four* messages from the same lore friendly Sun Seeker cat person yesterday advertising the Bank of "Piss off you RMT" site last night. (I'm sure you know which one I'm referring to)

Reported him each time. Probably still spamming folks. After the fourth one I stuck his ass on my blacklist. Normally I don't have to do that because they stop spamming me with that character after the first one.

I'm getting more than ever. And it's been like how many months now since a certain S L E A Z Y company set up permenantly shop in Gridania where they stand right by the aethryte and advertise in Say made. Pretty much every teleport into Gridania is immediately followed by a message in Say mode from that company.

We would like to share a comment we received from the Special Task Force (STF).

Zhexos, it would be greatly helpful if we knew what additional information we can provide to expedite their investigation. Player names such as "alkdfjsj fdskfj" are all too common with bots, and very obvious. These should be banned immediately. Most other times, bots can be spotted by visually watching the gameplay. There is nothing we can do to accurate describe this for the STF Team. What we really need are GMs that walk around invisible, watching the server.

SE doesn't delete characters. If you see [Deleted], it means the RMT deleted their own characters. If I had a gil for every time I have to repeat this, I'd buy out all housing plots.

Here's another thing, maintenance is just done, I log in, system message stamped at 12:15 - at 12:17, I get a love letter from yet another RMT bot. Yeah, nice start to the Moonfire Faire....

Here is what I find funny - I called SE customer support - just to ask a few questions in regards to this very topic. I asked if there was a way that I could send actual screenshots of RMT advertisements to them to prove that this is happening and I was told that they were not allowed to open up any attachments, which I find to be the stupidest excuse in the book. When you send a technical support request, you send a log file to them, which the log file is a attachment. So do we send RMT screenshots to the technical support group? I bet that they can take care of it faster than what I am seeing. I get back to back to back RMT tells daily and my b/list is full. I have given up b/listing the RMT because they are like cockroaches, take one out and 4 come back in their place. SE really needs to get a virtual can of cockroach spray and eliminate the RMT altogether.

That's actually normal, because they don't want their customer service staff to accidentally open up malware attachments.

All the call centers I've worked for, the attachments are usually stripped from emails.

That said, they could just change the reporting mechanic so that it creates a screenshot, or records a 10 second video to upload when the report function is triggered. The game client already has the ability to create a screenshot.
