I used to report every single RMT tell I received but since I still see these players hours and hours since I reported them I just stopped bothering - and always /busy which is bad since then I can't get tells from friends, fc and ls buddies
136 pages and 6 months later... don't think anything has changed

Sounds like they're shifting around between servers, so some are seeing more of them and some less. On Coeurl, we'd had a huge surge of RMT shortly before HW released. We aren't back up to that level (thank goodness), but after a lull following 3.0 coming out, we're back up to about what had been normal throughout last year, which is plenty to be really annoying.
And SE still isn't screening them and hasn't given us proper tools for reporting them.![]()

Just throwing out there that it isn't necessarily that RMT goes up or down, but that the number of players online goes up and down. Few people were playing immediately before 3.0, because what was the point? No point in trying to bump your ilevel up or cap poetics each week when the massive jump in ilevel was around the corner. Now fewer people are playing because it has been 3 months since a major piece of content.
With fewer players online, the RMT have fewer people to spam, so they rotate through their spam bots faster, and individuals get spammed more per minute. It's the same reason RMT spam seems higher at 4am then 8pm.
Wouldn't it be a trademark violation or something like that?
On Mateus, I am spammed by a dozen or more for every hour I play. I have seen no improvement; if anything, it has gotten worse.
I spent a month or so reporting every RMT I got, but the process is just so tedious that I burned out and now just add them to blacklist... SE please add a quick way to report someone (preferably one that is accessible during a cutscene, I seem to get the most tells during cutscenes for some reason).
I know this is a giant problem. But isn't the route of all this the websites selling the gil. You take out farmers and another 10 will appear.
In my opinion. Square Enix really need to enforce the law and stop these websites operating...
Would it work to cut the websites out, then that might solve the whole problem.
