    As it stands now you have to be alive when the target of a dungeon is killed or you don't get credit.

    if you happen to be dead when the boss is killed you just spent 25mins-90mins for nothing. Which just happened in Temple of Qarn Normal for me as a bard.

    I made a valiant effort to kite the last boss around the room while the healer res'd the tank. The circumstances are unforgivable, boss is under 10% health, myself just 1 hit away from death, each arrow pokes his health down little by little. Just as the boss dies, he executes his room wide aoe, thus slaying me. Final results, got the newbies their first time clear, i didn't get my book clear. It's like the design is setup for veteran players to avoid newbies to minimize this easily fix'able risk in poor foresight on the dev's part. 65 minutes spent in that dungeon because we had a few wipes as i explained mechanics and the newbies went through the learning curve.

    This has happened several times on other weapons for other clears. Make the struggle rewarding. Why should i go to such lengths with such an unforeseen obstacle looming in the shadows, as it makes itself known, it's too late and you lament at all the precious time and effort spent.

    Should not be this way, especially when you will deal with new players that are experiencing the first time. Even more so when the objectives are solely designed to recycle content so veteran players can push new players through dungeons. Needs to be rewarding not a double whammy of trolly punishment.

    Make it so your char can still get the dungeon clear towards Atma book objectives whether dead or alive.

    Nah all relic objectives are designed with as many pointless time sinks that SE could think of in order to inflict maximum suffering on the players. The idea is that the questline is so mindnumbingly boring that it discourages players from grinding and blowing through it as fast as possible since they will hit many walls where they are like "This sucks" "Meh I'll do it again next week. "Meh I got better things to do with my time" and players just do their relics when they feel like it in pieces at a time due to how boring and mindnumbing the whole process is.

    They likely recruited some of the world's greatest minds to sit in a room together and study how to make the players waste the maximum amount of time while still being able to call this "game content" rather than, "Sadistic torture inflicted on masochist gamers". However, after the zodiac version of the quest, the great minds left SE leaving their team to figure out how to make the quest that takes the relics from 125 to 135 thus you're left with something less sadistic.

    I enjoy the social encounters. My experience in Qarn just now is making me question the adventure with these dead or alive flag to clear requirements. Whats important is that i was there, it's highly likely my contributions to slaying the target were crucial.

    If you release, you will be alive and get credit, IIRC

    So, if you see the boss dying and that it's unlikely you'll be raised in time, just release

    this doesn't help in situations where the boss dies at the same time as you.
    the drop SHOULD work like the zodiac one, and reward upon exit.
    conversely, the zodiac one should be a 100% drop rate like the animus books soooooo....

    At least for the book you know you have 100% chance to get the drop as long as you're alive. There are also some (rare but possible) instances where you can join in progress and the group is up to the last boss already and you can get your item in less than 5 minutes.

    I've had so many bad runs trying to make my Zodiac that I just can't feel sorry for you in the slightest... When you get to this step it doesn't matter if you're alive or not. I feel like that 1/9 drop chance people are rumouring is total BS. I think they said they boosted the drop rate on it too but I'm just not feeling it.

    It's way too early for you to be complaining about your relic weapon... Just wait until you reach the later steps...
