NPC: I don't really like au'ra or you outsiders. But right now u got a bigger problem on my hands.
During the battle, the dragons pooped on my house. I need you to go collect their... Droppings. Five should suffice.
If you're not going to do this then just leave! Our hands are full enough with the dragons as is, to deal with you (furries/dragon lovers/outsiders/midgets)
Yoshi has made then more seem like voidscent rather than dragonkin, in fact Im pretty sure they said the Au'Ra are not Dravanian. Which would mean the Ishgardians would have no more a problem with the Au'Ra as they would anyone of the three city-states.
Not sure, but I imagine whatever happens in 2.55 will involve the Au Ra helping to save Ishgard alongside us players.
The real oddity of course will be playing 2.0 content as an Au Ra. I wonder if they will add in some quest text that mentions your race, as there are currently quests in the game that occasionally mention what you are. Playing through Coethas storylines about dragon cultists will be odd as a half-dragon man. Reminds me of the weird quests in WoW when they added the Worgen werewolf race.

Between the full-blown Dravinian assault sending everything to hell in a handbasket and various Ishgardian nobles trusting the player/Scions, they won't have the time/choice to worry about it aside from a round of harrumphs and insults.
This.
While everyone, and even myself seems to call them dragon-people, they're apparently more like demons than dragons.
And I'm sure Ishguard is a-okay with a demon hitting them up for some sidequests. Nothing wrong with a demon or two running around your city.

i'm still wondering where people are getting this idea.
He was saying it's possible to give player-made Au Ra females an appearance similar to the succubi models, implying more "mature" sexy and less "cute/waifish". He never said they were demonic.
Add to that, it kinda goes against the theme.
The void isn't really mentioned anywhere else in anything remotely related to Heavensward. To have the Au Ra be demonic in ancestry is so far out of left field I really think anyone who thinks so is reaching for straws that just aren't there.
It'd be like having a Jungle expansion where we fight marauding monkeys alongside rat people and introducing a new race as...birdfolk from a completely different continent that is never named nor referenced.
Let me break this down nice and easy, this concept of narrative verisimilitude. Warning that this'll be LONG.
Going back to EQ1, the first race added in the first expansion was the Iksar, a race of lizard people VERY heavily tied into the lore of the new continent, and had their physical differences equally explained and expanded upon. Following that, 2 expansions later saw the Vah Shir, another race intrinsically tied to the location the expansion took place on, and a race that was referenced as far back as the vanilla version of the game. Frogloks were also added during a turbulent time involving trolls, but that expansion is also not very well received sooo. Finally, the most recent were the Drakkin, a race of dragon-kin tied intrinsically to dragons in an expansion featuring dragons.
Next we have EQ2, which introduced Fae in an expansion involving a very "fay" location called "faydwer" that also played a big part in the story. Next the Sarnak were added in an expansion again having to do with the aforementioned iksar. I won't get into the 3 "intermediate" races since they weren't added as part of expansions, though the Aerakyn were part of the content that was being addressed at the time.
Then we move on to WoW, which added the Blood Elves and Draenei during an expansion heavily featuring them taking center stage. Next they added the Goblins and Worgen, who embodied the changes coming to Azeroth at the time. Finally (for now) there were the Pandaren, added with their continent.
Star Trek Online added Romulans during an expansion centering around Romulans.
In short, it doesn't really make sense to add a race that has nothing to do with dragons in an expansion centered on dragons.
