Or when you're used to tabbing in other games but this one you expect it to tab directly to the single monster onscreen beating you up only to have it discover some random mob in the background that you can barely even see. And then that mob has a hidden neighbor...

Nope, that's the target in a completely different dungeon.

Oh, there we are.

(I know it's solved by zooming in so just that mob is visible but it's still ridiculous that it doesn't prioritize the thing DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF YOU.)

This is why I like Target of Target and mouse over macros. Everyone else though, fend for yourselves!

Targetting is the only tricky stuff for gamepads, aside it, I love how this game does with gamepads...You just have to try the camera better so you don't see what's in the background when trying to select something.

For keyboard it's so easy as f1,f2,f3,f4.... But in gamepad it's still so damn tricky to heal... T_T.. Going down and up with the gamepad pov can mess it all in the party and fail miserably many times.... I had to make my own-made mini script so whenever I press with gamepad circle + pov up, it's f1, circle + pov right f2... And so on till f8 with X + pov buttons. (Needed some time to master it but.... Hey)

This is why I target like in FFXI. Plant my face directly in it's face along with my camera so there's no other option BUT to target that specific mob.

...I also turn my character to face mobs before I use attacks...old FFXI habits. heh
