I thought it acts as a reraise when you die? Doesn't it automatically grant you a raise upon death?
I haven't used it since I just put it in my retainer since it's a rather unique item, but iirc that's how it's supposed to work.
Besides, why would you want to use it as a typical Phoenix down as seen in other FF games? In dungeon settings, you always have a healer that can rez, and outside, you can always change class to rez somebody provided you have a lv 12 CNJ. As an item to rez a KO'd individual, it's pretty useless when you think about it..
i doubt these would ever be made useful. If they could be used in combat, it can cause a lot of balancing issues for raids if the devs have to take into account that everyone in the group can raise once per encounter. They seem to be in game just so anyone in the open world can raise a dead adventurer.
I took one with me when speed-running dungeons by doing suicide pulls, in case the healer accidentally got aggro and died too.
I have had one in my inventory forever.
It is NOT an auto reraise. It won't work in dungeons.
It's a joke item, in my opinion. It does auto-raise upon death, can't be used in combat and doesn't work in duties.
The only use is to raise someone in the open world if you don't have the ability on one of your classes. Basically, it just takes up inventory space.
I thought Phoenix Downs only work on people in your party?
I would like a Phoenix Down to act as a res on another player, similar to Raise/Resurrect, and have the use time be equally as long without a means of speeding it up a la Swiftcast.
But yeah. Right now, Phoenix Downs are worthless.
