lol, Chiramu, your opinion is fact. I'm offering intellectual insight, I can Google scholar the information if you prefer it that way. You can hate EB all you want, HOWEVER; EB is owned by GameStop (like they 100% control EB, GameStop/EB does NOT do franchises only corporate) and you don't see GameStop listing prices like that in other countries.

Like I said its more than just a retailer thing. You can refuse to see the facts all you want, but they are still facts.

EB games is a franchise in Australia, also a poorly run one. Why are you claiming to be the all-knowing entity and everyone who doesn't agree with you is an ignoramus? I didn't give my money to EB games or any Australian retailer, you obviously are not Australian so you don't know how it is for us you are spouting words from across an ocean and expect us to listen.

Remember guys this retailer in question is a NZ retailer so it's already going to be significantly more expensive to us living in Australia. Look at the RRP differences on MGS:V as someone pointed out in here or the other thread, as well as Hallmark cards and such for example.
That said, EB Games would be mad to set a similar price for Collectors Edition. I have confidence they won't though.

All we can do now... is sit back and wait for more info to trickle through to EB from their vendors. As I said before, the only thing they have for Heavensward in their system is the combo with the original game. I would imagine it wouldn't be much longer before EB does have the info and can then take preorders for it... at a more reasonable price.

I hate playing the waiting game as much as everyone else, but at the end of the day, that sadly is all we CAN do...

EB Games was bought out by Gamestop several years ago, they do tend to charge high prices whenever they can its just what the company does. In the US Gamestop required all the EB stores to change their name but outside the US they kept the name for whatever reason.

So basically you are dealing with Gamestop now not EB games. Even in the US, before EB games was bought out by Gamestop they were better would do price matches and have sales and stuff. So all of GS shady practices are in all the stores they own.

Chiramu, because it is a fact that EB Games was bought outright by GameStop more than a few years ago, and in doing so they acquired ALL the EB Game Brick and Mortar stores, along with their online stuff. However instead of changing all the names of the stores they left it the same because 1) GameStop international (and back at home in the USA) at that time didn't have a really good name for itself and 2) its costs a hella-lot of money to convert stores. Since EB was better known and more respected than GS they ultimately left the name the same but still OWNED it.

How do I know this? I used to work for GameStop, and in fact wanted to start my own franchise store (because you have the potential to make more money owning a franchise than corporate controlled ones), wherein I learned that franchising within the GameStop umbrella DOES NOT EXIST. So its impossible that you have and EB franchise because the parent company does not allow it. I'm not calling you an ignoramus, I'm just saying that you clearly don't like EB (you've implied this numerous times) but that doesn't mean your dislike for a company is the same or only reason why AUS/NZ folk have to pay more for video games. ITS JUST NOT THAT SIMPLE.

This will be my last post in response to this, I may not LIVE in AUS/NZ but hell if I won't look at the matter objectively and try to find the root of the problem. Sorry for trying to help out, but I see help is not really wanted. Good day.

I just checked the Australian EB site and it has the Gamestop bunny mascot right on the front page telling you to sign up for an account. There is no more EB games its all Gamestop now, probably like what the previous poster said they just didn't change their name overseas because GS has such a bad reputation.

I have a weird question/statement. How do you know this retailer doesn't buy it from ebgames and resell it anyways. We used to have a local game seller here before internet selling was a big thing. He would fly down to the states and buy as many copies as he could hold. So you pay mark up twice. He also was able to charge as he saw fit because he knew that there were enough people to cover his small overpriced inventory.

im just gonna get the digital CE when available on psn lol store retailers have to remember this isnt even a full game its just n expansion yet charging close to or over what they would for a full game CE no way in hell id pay 250-400$ for n expansion pack for any game lol even if i have to ill preorder a standard edition for codes at eb then cancel once i have purchased the CE digital lmao :P
