[Query] Summoning magic; possible?

Ever since I can remember one of my favourite elements throughout just about ever Final Fantasy game (including FFXI) was summoning magic and the summoner role itself.

I want to know if there is any discussion or plans for any type of summoner class or implementation of pets, because I find it's a large element that's lacking from the game.

When I played FFXI I chose Summoner as my main role as soon as I found out it was an available job in the game. It's probably my favourite role to play in an MMO, especially a Final Fantasy one. So I'm finding it a little hard to believe that we don't have some sort of ability to attain pets or summons.

Now I could understand with the other priorities the staff is working on are far more urgent and alot more work, but I'd at least like to know whether or not there has even been talk of summoning, pets, and the like? I'm not expecting it to come out next patch or anything but it'd be incredibly reassuring to know if there is at least a possibility of it. Or if there's not.

If there isn't to be any sort of implementation of pets or summoning, then I highly suggest that something be put in the works because it adds alot to the game. I'd imagine other players who are also veteran MMO players are wanting a feature along these lines as well. I know I do! (: Thank you

I agree...this would be awesome addition to the game.

Would be pretty cool if you got to control them for a short while. Summoning them for about a minute and controlling them however way you want, as if they were your character. Recast would be massive but it would really be a neat feature, and very unique. Many games only use them as pets. Lets do something unheard of!

Personally, I was always under the impression that summoning was a big part of FF lore so I really hope there will be some word on it. ^^
