R20 Archer Guild Quest game crash

After meeting with the R20 Archer Guild Quest NPC, I teleported to Camp Emerald Moss. When I got there, the background (ground, trees, sky, etc.) were replaced with a black, starry field. NPCs and the Aetheryte were still visible. I teleported out and then walked to Emerald Moss. I believe there was supposed to be an instanced event, because as I approached the camp, the grass, trees, sky, etc. were replaced by an empty black field. I walked into it (stupid me). I was then treated to an entirely black screen with music still playing. I exited the FFXIV program and tried logging back in. After I select my character and choose to log in, I'm stuck at the Now Loading screen.

Steps:
1. Accepted Rank 20 Archer Guild Quest from NPC in Archer's Guild.
2. Completed first instance in Archer's Guild building, instructed to go to Camp Emerald Moss.
3. Teleported to Camp Emerald Moss. Ground, sky, surroundings were replaced by a black, starry field. NPCs and Aetheryte were still visible.
4. Teleported back to Gridania.
5. Walked from Gridania to Camp Emerald Moss, where I observed the area (ground, surroundings, sky) around the aetheryte to be completely black, although NPCs and Aetheryte were visible.
6. Walked into area. Screen became black as if in transition to an instance or a scripted event. Waited several minutes but game remained in this black screen state.
7. Closed FFXIV.
8. Opened FFXIV and selected character for log in. Confirmed character selection and was taken to "Now Loading" screen. Remained in this state for several minutes without any change.
9. Restarted computer and attempted steps 7 & 8 again.
