Character Transfer

Hey there, quick question.

My friend gave me an EU version of Realm reborn Feb 10. Fun game, but I'm in North America.

Is there any way to transfer over my characters and such to an NA account? I don't mind if I have to buy a new copy of the game ( NA version ) as long as I can keep my playtime, characters and such.

I pre-ordered the CE for Heavensward from the NA store ( physical ) and want to avoid running into any issues that may arise.

If anyone has run into this before ( already shot off an email to Square ) I'd appreciate the feedback.

Like I said, if the solution is to buy a new copy of the game but for the NA version, as long as it keeps my character data, sub time left ( that's not a huge deal though ) and such, then I'm perfectly, happy.

Any of you run into this problem before? And was that an easy way to fix it?

Short answer, but basically, no

Characters cannot be transferred between accounts and I've heard of many people asking to do it, but never anyone actually saying they got it to happen, sorry. Likewise I've never heard of anyone successfully getting SE to just change their region either.

It sounds like you're already aware it might be an issue, but yes, because you have the EU game now, you will also need the EU expansion (and to complicate matters further, if you have the Steam version now, you need the Steam version for the expansion too, physical/non Steam won't work).

I looked at your character on the Lodestone and you could probably get back those sort of levels within about 2-3 weeks if you play fairly regularly (it's much quicker 2nd time as you know more what you're doing - I did this recently with an alt and got that character to 50 in less than 2 weeks), but I appreciate that's probably rather daunting. Something to consider anyway as it'll obviously only get worse the more you level up.
