    Character Information/Preferences in new HDD

So today my C:// Drive got almost full to capacity, and I figured it was time to move everything to my E:// SSD. I transfered all my Documents, Music, and Pictures to the E:// drive, and of course with that my FFXIV character info went with it. I started up the game shortly after, and of course it didn't recognize that I had played the game before. When I got past the initial CS, it didn't have all my UI preferences, Macros, etc. So here's my question, how do I get FFXIV to recognize that all my info is now on the E:// drive instead of my C:// drive? Any and all help is appreciated Thank you!

All your user settings are saved under My Games\ Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn folder.
the one that goes CHR and a bunch of random numbers are for each of your characters.. Don't know why they found it necessary to encrypt the character names though..

It sounds like you have moved the files, but haven't actually told Windows that you moved the Documents directory (because FFXIV uses the Documents directory as reported to it by Windows then adds My Games\Final Fantasy etc to the path). So in this case it will have likely recreated the folder under where your original documents folder was.

How to update Windows changes per version (or they all can done by editing the registry directly), but take a look at: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/w...#1TC=windows-7

Alternatively you could just move the FFXIV files only back or try the Google Drive link as suggested above (Symbolic link could actually work to point to your new drive without needing Google Drive, but that's a nice solution for syncing).

They didn't, that's just the unique ID of your character. Character names (and even servers) can change, but the ID will stay the same until the character is deleted. When you login it simply looks for a local folder with the ID of your character, creating it if it doesn't exist. It wasn't meant to be something friendly for us to fiddle with.
