    Thanks Jesse.

Ugh. Yah this one might be worth asking the Localization Team to change for English. As others have said, in English "Take care" is like "See you later. Take care"... kind of feel. But it's true it can also mean "Watch out" but it's not used that way as much currently.

I need to find a more general guide of helpful tips for using the auto translate feature. I just recently switched to mainly playing on my ps4 and im already thinking i NEED a wireless keyboard to be able to communicate properly. I dont know how to go about explaining "this is my first time in this dungeon" or "please explain boss fights im new" or anything like that. There's other instances but yeah, any ideas of a good general guide for using autotranslate or maybe even some communication macros?

I wish the localization team would work on the auto translate feature a bit more. There are some really bizarre things in there or translations that don't carry over. There are also lots of things missing that many people would consider important. But something tells me this is going to be one of those things that will never get the attention it deserves. A: because its a lot more complicated then it appears. B: It's probably not widely used enough to matter that much to most people.

I'm just glad that the old 1.xx auto translate word "mine" is gone now. That one always confused me as it could mean an action (as in "I'm going to mine this node"), a place ("there's gold in that mine") or ownership ("This is mine"). No one from other languages would ever tell me which it really meant and as it was a single word without any sort of context it bugged me a lot >_>

That's one that I forgot to put in. This is a relic from XI.

"Have you seen it?" For B rank mobs. <Do you have it?> really doesn't do. :/

and is there something in the auto translate dictionary that equals ドンマイ (Don't mind)?
There's no good auto translate that I know of for that. As for donmai, it only came to me when a JP player typed don't mind in English. They use it quite often... There's no auto for it.
    EDIT: How about B {The Hunt} {Where?}

There's an auto for "this is my first time here", I will look for it when I get in the game. There's none for explain the fight to me, and it makes sense because the reply you get won't be in auto translate, so you might as well make a macro in plain text.
All you really need is {let's do it} and {good game} for running anything.

So are most of us in this thread! I think...

I don't know what people currently use or want to use that is possible, so I can't make a full guide right now.

If everyone could make a list of requested phrases that may go toward to the creation of one.

Apologies for not being clear, I mean there SHOULD be things like this in the auto translate dictionary. xD
We really should have something like "It's ok" or "No problem" to cover donmai.
Could use "You can go ahead and start" too. >< Do we have an EN phrase for "I'm going" (行きます)?

I tried using JP input for a while to put into practice the teensy bit of JP I know, but the punctuation being moved on the keyboard really messed me up so I changed back to EN input only. :/

Yes, you need (imo) a wireless keyboard for your console. There are those who use the screen keyboard, but it's so frustratingly slow they can't keep up with chat. Just go get a cheap 10 buck keyboard from an office store, you don't need anything fancy.

Whereas the words themselves do convey a cautionary advice to them. It's just the way language evolves I guess.
I think it's pretty much accepted in English as shorthand for "Take care of yourself", a general wish of good health when saying goodbye.

I remember it was common in FFXI for players to string together complete nonsense in Autotranslate just because it sounded phonetically correct in English. (May) (bee) was a common one. To be fair, they were likely doing it to be snarky, not because they honestly expected it to translate to anything meaningful. :P
