    135 weapon damage scaling

So i finished my relic and i felt my damage didn't go as high as i was expecting it to go. when i did some math i realized that even though the relic ilvl had grown by roughly 18% compared to a 115 weapon the 135 weapon damage had only increased roughly 9%. Why is this? I mean is not like dps is a problem but why not increase the damage with the ilvl and make a real difference?

It is because your weapon is not the only factor in damage.

It is only 1 of the 12 or 13 pieces of equipment influencing your damage.

Note: A 9% increase is an impressive increase from only changing one piece of gear.

I think you should not compare the damage increase purely based on the increase in iLvl, but compare it to other weapons from the same iLvl. For instance comparing the Zeta with the Dreadwyrm. The base damage of both weapons are the same, so the secondary stats of the weapon should determine whether or not the weapon is BiS for you.

The Item Level is just a number that indicates which “tier/grade” of content the weapon belongs to.

Plus 10% is the same increase i had when going from animus to a well melded novus so it makes sense

Ilevel barely means nothing you should use stats weight x stats amounts instead

the animus is a 100 weapon and the novus is 110..... what is your point? that it did scale correctly? the weapon damage change from animus to novus is of 13% right where it should be. you didn't think the secondary stats would make a real difference in dps did you.

also i'm talking about weapon damage not gear or dps... the number on the weapon

smh... the number it self may not mean squat but what it represents does in weapons....

there is nothing you can put on a 110 weapon to make it as strong as a 115 weapon regardless of stats. in weapons ilvl means everything. and there is no real reason to scale the damage so little with a huge jump in ilvl.

no wonder i was beating the dps of people with 130 and 135 weapons with the high allagan... i thought they were not great but is the weapons

Every 1 weapon damage is equivalent to about 8-10 of your base stat approximately. The boost from an i110 weapon to a 135 weapon should be 100+ dps if you include other stat increases. There is no content in this game that requires a 130+ weapon aside from maybe T12/13. I'm not sure what you were expecting but finishing a relic will not make you a god. It just gives you an easy, but expensive and time consuming option to get a top tier weapon with custom stats and an option to avoid coil.

Ileven define the stats cap on the gear, not the stats itself

Also, all weapons of the same type with the same ilevel have the same Physical DMG and DPS numbers

They do not, however, have the same attack speed. It's an important thing to note for Paladin, who uniquely benefits from increased attack speed (Sword Oath).
