Unlike most gear, which looks like it has been "tailored" for Miqo'te after the fact, if you look at the back of the regular Allagan gear, there is clearly a small metal plate screwed into place above the tailbone when worn by most races, that becomes an actual hole when equipped by Miqo'te. That leads me to believe that tails were definitely a consideration when the gear was manufactured. Next time I'm on my main PC I'll link screenshots.
Of course, the only thing that called my attention to the tail hole in the first place was that the only "Allagan" we've met besides Doga and Unei has been a male Miqo'te capable of tracing his ancestry back to the Fourth Umbral Calamity, theoretically without any racial intermixing. But it's hard to know for sure.
Okay then. that's what I'll do. I'll tell you a story. Can you hear them? All these people who lived in terror of you and your judgement. All these people who's ancestors devoted themselves to you, sacrificed themselves to you. Can you hear them singing?
Oh well that can be explained easily.Of course, the only thing that called my attention to the tail hole in the first place was that the only "Allagan" we've met besides Doga and Unei has been a male Miqo'te capable of tracing his ancestry back to the Fourth Umbral Calamity, theoretically without any racial intermixing. His ancestors wer not miqo'te but he is a miqo'te because somewhere down his ancestral tree some one was a miqo'te and that's how we have a miqo'te with the Alagan royal eye. And don't even go into saying no because their of different species' because it's the only thing that makes sense. Because there wer no miqo'tes in Eorza at the time.
So no it dose not mean there wer miqo'tes in Alga the new race seams more likely of why if there are tail holes but I still keep to the fact that there are tail holes is because the miqo'tes who find them now just make the hole them selves.

It's called speculation. I'm not saying you're wrong and I'm right, so I don't know why you're taking what I said so personally. I also said a bunch of that myself already.
There was an interview with Koji at fan fest (no, I don't have the link right now) where the interviewer commented that all the Allagans we've met were Hyur, and he replied "but you haven't met all the Allagans." Seems to me that he was coyly hinting at that scene after World of Darkness, but even if he wasn't it got me thinking about the presence of other races in the Allagan Empire. Hence the completely ridiculous tail hole theory. It's ridiculous, and also just a theory.
Anyway, what I noticed was this:
Notice the detachable metal plate where the tail would go. Lots of other gear tends to have a spot that sort of coincidentally suggests "a tail could be made to fit though here," but with the Allagan gear, you can tell that it was originally meant to be worn by people with or without tails.
And when you put Allagan gear on a cat...
It's like it was made for him.
(There are many explanations for this that have nothing to do with the setting or lore. Just relax and have fun with it.)
