soldiers who were posted to Dalamud.
Well, as said before by someone else, I don't believe that there were soldiers posted to Dalamud either.
If you take a look at the Melusine battle for instance, there are a lot of Dragons and such in stasis, all of which go to perpetuate Bahamut's regeneration and imprisonment.
There are no humanoid remains, nor any people from the allag era aboard the interment hulks or coils.
An interesting point was made with regards to the fact that you can see the faces of Magic-using classes in Allagan gear, but not for Melee classes.
However, the faces in High allagan and Dreadwym gear (for the most part) are exposed. The very name high allagan insists and insinuates that it is the dress of allgan high soceity, possibly nobility, but definitely of higher standing than regular allagan gear.
Perhaps the regular allagan gear is that of foot-soldiers, and the high allagan gear is reserved for their leaders.(1/2)

The Dreadwyrm gear isn't related to Allag in name, and is very visibly different to armour and weapons of allag ingenuity. Perhaps, and this is simply speculation, this gear was reserved for those tasked with battling the beast, or are remnants of a pre-dravanian culture who worshiped Bahamut. Regardless, it does not seem to be linked to the allag culture.

Still, the very fact that Allagan dress and armour is in the interment hulks that once formed Dalamud does seem to suggest that they must have been there at one point, and the fact that they took their weapons with them means it must've been to some extent, a hostile environment. (Perhaps in case of the statis-dragons escaping, or the guardians for each turn getting loose, etc.)

The only guardians in Dalamud arev( and pardon my spelling it may be wrong )

ADS in other words THALS GIANT MECHANICAL ELECTRIC BALLS ( yes I'm playing with nick names on these LOL.)

The Avatar in other words MECHA TREANT

And lastly Kilia in other words HAIL MECHA HYDRA.

all the guardians of Dalamud are mechanical machines robots clock work gears set out to kill all intruders as in us. The rest are living things that either A wer mutated bumy the corrupted athear or B escaped from their imprisonment.

Oh and as to why there are tail holes the cat people just cut it and made a hole for their tail there.

If you look closely at allagan and high allagan gear, they also have a bahamut theme to them. The allagan headgear are molded after his claws, for example.

The jump to at least reverence/respect for bahamut isn't far fetched

That or as another said in here its left over remnents of the Old Dravana culture. Besides its called Dread wyrm ( for a few months thought it was called dead wyrm lol.)

Any way Wyrm is just a classification of a powerful and high dragon it dose not necessary mean it's just based of Bahumet but he is the king of wyrms.

likely, there is a good chance that the armor was left by the guards who were stationed there during construction. maybe they were forced to evacuate in a hurry, leaving their equipment behind due to acceleration of plans?

Considering that the Allagans had access to spaceships, I presume that there were originally guards and workers up there. However, when Xande forced Dalamud to send ALL of its collected energy down into the Crystal Tower, something that I do not believe either systems were designed to do in a hurry, it may have killed a substantial, if not all of the garrison up there. Additionally, even if a few survived, Dalamud doesn't seem to have a means of supplying itself, and the survivors may have left for the surface to scavenge what little they could.

With the vast core of the Empire destroyed and the Crystal Tower (that was the primary means of using Dalamud) nowhere to be found, it was essentially just a big orbiting lump of unusable magitek. There was no reason for any survivors of the garrison to remain and given that the structure was in high orbit with plenty of defense systems (which they probably activated before they left), there was no immediate fear that anyone could misuse it.

makes sense. the designs of the armor has me curious now though.

if i were to guess, normal coil 1 allagan were used by their higher ranking soldiers, not the commoners. High allagan would have maybe been used by aristocrats, generals, and the like (allagan directly below xande, those with the royal eye. maybe the color was to denote where and what they were doing? red is for dalamud, green for crystal tower, other colors for other tasks??). dreadwyrm is probably of meracydian make and was stored on dalamud when they were confiscated by the allag, its very likely more than just dragons worshiped Bahamut.

What if the tail hole isn't for mi'quote but for Au Ra ? Odin was sealed by the allagans if I'm not mistaken, and the blade is Au Ri, so maybe they were allagan soldiers ( willingly or not is unsure though ).
