should know gamez are srs bsnz gais
XIV has a long way to go before SE can begin to try and re-market it.
Even with the patches it's getting now and in the distant future I don't think it will be decent enough for the general populace for another year.
XI - Darkshade - ShivaXIV - Shade Highwind - Figaro
while these things seem great to us, they are hardly anything to brag about. Most mmo's come with all these thing out of the box. The point of marketing is to sway consumers, not brag about how you product doesn't suck as much as it used too.
I highly doubt SE will show anything about FFXIV in any public setting until they finish all the additions and changes and are ready for P2P and PS3 launch.
Yoshida said their would be a comeback campaign and advertising and such at that time.
Makes sense, the game was slaughtered by reviewers due to its release in a near alpha stage. Not a good idea showing everyone what it is like in the middle of beta more or less.
Let them Finish it, Polish it, then show everyone what the new FFXIV is. That will make the biggest impact.
You're all correct, of course, but at least a single machine with a demo would've been nice. I wasn't expecting Yoshi-P to be there doing the Snoopy dance.
I mean, the Guild Wars 2 booth was this giant thing, even though it was almost exactly the same as last year's, and it's clear Arenanet has done zero development on the game this past year while they continued to milk the teats of their Korean overlords (they were even giving away the same crummy t-shirts).
Even a demo would send the wrong message, outside of the FFXIV forum bubble there just isn't enough to really wow anyone that either ambivalent about the game or quit a long time ago.
Tbh i had to look up the word disavowed, 'To disclaim knowledge of', first time I've seen it lol. Dunno if i would say they did that but defo didn't wanna talk about it.
Download my iPad app on the App Store http://bit.ly/10QMy4C ^^
I wouldn't they're just not talking about it because what they have to say isn't something people at the convention are going to get excited about when they have other titles to show instead. I hear Deus Ex is really good stuff and XIII-2 needs to be seen considering how XIII was received.
And really any good PR for SE is great right now for them and XIV, if people see them releasing good games maybe they'll start thinking all is not lost for FFXIV. ?! ^_^

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.
