You make good points, but you're basically saying we should have 7 years of content that XI built up in the 7-ish months that XIV has been out. Some of those basic things would be awesome though. Having the competitiveness of the city states with things like territorial control could be cool. It would be interesting to see how it would work with so many seamless zones.

Okay, fair enough, although I thought the content I was describing was more like 3~4 years (since I left out Treasures of Aht Urhgan and Wings of the Goddess), but still, you made the point.

I bought FFXI on release day, but sadly I cannot say I played to endgame right from release day. I bounced back and forth to the game because I had no friends committed to sticking with it. However, the content I did experience back then was still way more than what we have currently.
