Nanjo: It's Nanjo Yoshino and thanks for joining me for the ending of From Eorzea With Love. Well, during one of our Love Bulletin segments <tn: a segment on the show where the host reads listener mail with some FF14 player's story of love/confessions etc>, it was mentioned that there's something about FF14 that's kind of behind the times. After logging out of the game, there's no way to keep in touch with your friends, keep a conversation going... it's like even after you become friends there's some difficulty to becoming connected in the real world. Anyway, this frustration was the how the segment started.
Yoshida: I think this thing where people are unable to say something face-to-face but are able to in-game is amazing. But there's also stuff that you want to be able to say out of game too, if you're able to say it at all. Like, "what time are you gonna log in today?"
Nanjo: Yes! Like being able to arrange a meeting! It'd be great for members of a static.
Yoshida: And at this time... we're making another smartphone application for FF14. And it's able to do chat.
Nanjo: Really?!
Yoshida: Like with free company members and so forth. Through this app you'll be able to share messages with people.
Nanjo: I see. Like a linkshell you can use in real life.
Yoshida: Yeah. You could ask "what time can you log in tonight?" or "what day should we do coil this week?", whatever.
Nanjo: Whoaa! <whispering> When is it coming?
Yoshida: <whispering> Sometime after Heavensward's release.
Nanjo: <tn: I don't understand what she said. I think it's like "There's a lot going on in Heavensward.">
Yoshida: Well well, you'd want to be able to stay in contact inside and outside of the game. You know, if I say anymore the PR department is gonna yell "edit that out!"
Nanjo: Oh, they'll be mad.
Yoshida: Yeah.
Nanjo: Alright then let's leave it there.
