Trying to play on another computer, won't let me?

Did you try downloading the steam client and then booting the game via steam?

It's odd, since I don't boot the game via steam on my PC. I don't even have steam running on my PC. It seems like a huge waste of space to download another version of the client on my husbands PC to run the same game?

Pretty sure the Stream and PC version are two different client. Meaning pretty much what you said you need the steam version of the game to play on his laptop. Just like if he want to play on your computer he need the PC client. How about you ask him to log in using your pc and it wont let him log in due to the fact he not using steam version.

Now that odd o.O wonder how that works then. Seeing how me and my gf both have PC account from playing ffxiv from release date of 2010. Just sure how i can help i was pretty sure he would get a wasn't "unlocked" for this version also.

I guess PC version can play on Stream client but a steam client can't work with a PC one is what i'm thinking. I guess we wait for someone else to post who may know more.
