Leveling a nother class, need advice

So I am leveling another class arc/bard and i was just wondering what was the best way to do this. Running fates solo isnt working b/c i usually fail them esp getting in the the higher lvls, im running out of leves and no one ques up for dungeons the wait is just unreal. yes i use my companion when doing fates but still doesnt mean im going to beat them and if i do i have to sit around and do nothing for a while till another fate pops. my hunting logs are done as soon as i get a new one. Was the game ment to be a really slow grind just by killing single/double mobs all day till u reach cap?

It's better to die on your feet than live on your knees.

Make a fate party, put it in Party Finder, say "Anything welcome, atma/alex/light/exp" there are tons of people who fate farm and then you won't ever die. Farm at the fates of your level, you can look up each zone and see what level fates pop in it. Also there's tons of exp bonus stuff you can also use, like the FC action or GC thing or food.

Also when you do queue up for dungeons as DPS, click the "in progress" button, you may get lucky and get into one already started. I usually keep on my queue and go do other stuff while I wait (craft/gather/whatever/irl stuff too).

If you're in an FC use your healer and tank friends to get you instant queues. If you're not in an FC, maybe look into it, it'll help you a lot with your problem.

Yes, there's no shortage of stuff to do. It's not that no one else is in queue; it's actually that there's likely a lot of DPS in queue ahead of you. In addition to the tank/healer buddy, you can also queue for up to five things at once to make things faster.

It's kind of annoying to level DPS classes as you can't queue for dungeons while your chocobo is out. Best thing to do is just get in the dungeon queue, then do other stuff for the half an hour it takes to pop - you can switch classes and do gathering/crafting while you wait, just nothing that involves joining other groups or going into instanced stuff.

It's kind of sucky at low levels as not so many people are doing FATEs in those zones, but once you can get into the 30s, there are always loads of people farming in Coerthas, and you don't even need to party up, just follow the herd and tag as many mobs as you can.

Fates and dungeons are a good basement to level but dont forget your huntlog for your class (unlocked after first classquest iirc) that usually gives enough xp for 5 levels. Also Duty roulettes (guildhest from level 10 on, low level from level 16 on if atleast 2 instances unlocked) push a lot.
In Limsa you can also unlock the challenge log and the challenges for roulettes done, hests and fates give free xp that you dont want to miss out as well
