Lucis is only time consuming, due to the sheer number of Moonstones and "Duck Bone" (and similar items for the other crafts) and the need to craft 20 tokens. That's not difficulty, that's tedium.

Yea I'm with you. The Moonstones are the painful part. Even the leves I did for the tokens weren't that bad if you selected the easiest crafts for the leves. The turn-ins themselves are a compromise between the Master I turn ins and the Master II tur ins: They aren't as easy as the Master Is and not as punishing/costly as the Master IIs.

I mean, I know a few people that had all their Lucis tools within 3 days of the patch. I couldn't be bothered to spend that much time on something that isn't necessary for 4* crafting, but it's to show it's doable.

I've found for the Moonstones doing a few maps kills the tedium of spamming GC seals.

I think Lucis will be made easier, like the relic is always made easier with time. But then it won't be the best weapon available, something better will appear. If the problem now are the moonstones and other materials, either the moonstones required will be less, or moonstones GC price will be less, or they will start to drop in many dungeons, or retainers will start to bring moonstones or some way to make them easier. The same for the other items needed if they are the cause of the time gate we have now. Or maybe require 5 or 10 items turn-in instead of 20, whatever.

Usually the long grindy last step is made easier when a longer grindier new last step is established or some time after.

lucis was easy to get, all you needed to do was craft 2000 or so green i55 items and trade for seals to get all the mats needed for every tool including gatherer,

I did it in 4 days or so, so yeah id say they were the easiest step even with all the crafting which in itself was easy just timely.

unless your 4* crafting lucis is not needed and even then not needed but it does help give you an edge on the crafts, so I doubt they will be needed in xpac but surely there will be some benefit to having them. maybe like relic to zodiac was... or then again maybe SE wants to level the playing field and so there will be no benefit.

basically if you don't want to chase the lucis tools, then don't.. but they are easy to get.

Lucis is difficult in the same way that Zodiac is difficult. The hardest mechanic is motivating yourself to do the same tedious crap thousands of times.
