Hydaelyn and Bahamut - Speculation and possible [SPOILERS]

Looking back on the loss of communication with Hydaelyn and the last image of her, how she started to glow purple, it got me thinking after watching the videos of T12.

She started to turn purple in the last vision and we also heard the roar of Bahamut at approximately the same time frame. This is also the time frame of the last communication from her and she has been silent ever since.

Looking at the pictures of the regrowing Bahamut, I noticed that he was being recreated around a very large crystal. At the time I didn't think anything of it as I was just thrilled to see the content. Now that I have had some time off, I did some thinking and I put 2+2 together and it dawned on me.

My speculation is that the major Allagan ships started rebuilding Bahamut directly on the Hydaelyn crystal and that is why she was corrupted. But as the crystal disappeared when the final ship was shut down, what happens at this point. Was that Hydaelyn? If her crystal was destroyed, what next?

Other than draining aether, Bahamut has nothing to do with the purple crystal.

That is Bahamut's heart. Main scenario and Coil quests are on 2 different direcctions, they will never be toghether

At the end of T12 Louisoix explains that when he destroyed Bahamut a fragment of the primal, that crystal heart, somehow managed to survive. Dalamud's mechanisms, still active, burrowed through the ground to locate the heart and began restoring the primal from that last surviving piece. It's not Hydaelyn.

If anything it's very unlikely Hydaelyn's crystal physically exists in Eorzea. All of our encounters with her took place in the aetherial realm so it's somewhat safe to assume she physically exists there. This is further supported by her needing to use the Warrior of Light as a medium through which to exert her power in Eorzea (via the Blessing of Light).

I will concede, however, that the purple colour of Bahamut's heart is the same as that dark crystal shown at the end of the 2.0 story. In T13 itself, if you look through the floor of the arena, you can see many other giant purple crystals. The Art of Eorzea artbook explained that there was some significance to the purple colouration of the dark crystal (and noted that it's the same colour scheme used for the Ascians) so it's possible there is a link of some kind there.

Let's not forget that Xande presumably dabbled in darkness a fair bit before the whole Crystal Tower thing - I'd not be surprised if it was incorporated in Dalamud's machines to help maintain Bahamut and the dravanians.

In another topic I made theory that the crystal core Bahamut ( the Bahamut Prime ) being a purple crystal it meant that the vision of the purple crystal might not be about Hydealyn or Zodiark but about Bahamut, but there is nothing about the purple crystal you see in the main story quest. You can't really be sure of anything about it.

Except the 'dark crystal' seen in that Echo vision is basically a pallette swap of Hydaelyn Herself, which is why players naturally assumed it's Zodiark, who is technically Hydaelyn's literal dark counterpart. Of course the Chysalis shows something different, but the jury is still out on exactly what that Echo scene after the end credits was (a thing to remember is the Echo only views the past by reading another's memories - if can't send someone into the future because the future hasn't been written yet).

The Echo also allows us to see Hydaelyn in the aetherial realm in addition to the echoes of the past though. We're still not actually sure which it was when we saw that dark crystal at the end of 2.0. Either we were seeing the past or we were seeing Hydaelyn in her present state... I'd hazard a leap of logic that Zodiark, being Hydaelyn's antithesis, might also share her Echo link with us as well.

Idk... I have a hard time believing it was The Echo due to a lack of swoosh-age and/or fuzzy T.V. screen. Unless Zodiark is granting us visions now, I feel a lot better saying that it was Hydaelyn letting us know that she's weak. Whether that means she's used too much of her power or that the Ascians are making progress is anyone's guess right now.

Maybe they are just the same (body). If light it is Hydaelyn, if dark it is Zodiark. More some kind of condition than being.
