    My idea for Dancer!

    Post incoming
    Dancer FFXIV

Understanding Dancer: this is essentially a physical, frontline healer. The idea is very unorthodox, but I think it's warranted because it's fairly unique and I think it's balanced well enough to actually work. Dancers work with something similar to Greased Lightning called Trance. To enter a trance, simply repeat the same action once. This sets your character to auto-pilot, and begins a more aesthetic dance. The effect of the dance grows in potency and the TP cost to maintains the dance decreases. While under trance, GCDs happen automatically on the same dance unless you actively change one. Each GCD has a 25% chance of granting a stack of charm, which can be redeemed for various actions. Charm can also be gained in different, more reliable ways. Charm is always granted when damage dealt in a dance or HP restored in a dance is critical. Dancers can have up to 5 stacks of charm.

Level 1: Mincing Minuet--deals damage to target with potency of 100 at medium range. Grants one stack of charm upon entering trance always . Use twice in a row to enter trance. 70 TP. 120 potency in trance, and 60 TP in trance.
Level 2: Jitterbug--restores life to target with potency of 360 at medium range. Grants one stack of charm upon entering trance always. Use twice in a row to enter trance. 70 TP. 400 potency in trance, and 60 TP in trance.
Level 4: Witch Hunt--places a DoT on target. Ticks the amount of charm dancer has when cast. Potency increases by 40 with each tick, starting at 25. If there are 5 stacks, the dot lasts 15 seconds. 2.5 second cast. Each tick has a 20% chance of reducing damage enemy deals by 5% for 20 seconds. Stacks with other mitigation abilities.
Level 6: Transitive Dance--allows the dancer to switch from one dance to another without exiting trance. Gives one stack of charm. 5 second effect. 60 second cooldown.
Level 8: Fleeting Steps--increases the evasion of all allies in range by 20% for 15 seconds. Stacks with featherfoot. 90 second cooldown.
Level 10: Polka Polka--begins healing in an area around the dancer at 240 potency per GCD. All allies within medium range are healed. Use twice in a row to enter trance. 90 TP. 300 potency and 80 TP while in trance.
Level 12: Living Pulse--use a stack of charm to restore all ally's HP by 5% immediately and reset cooldown on transitive dance. If dancing the Polka Polka, it doubles in potency, but will always use all stacks of charm for up to 50% HP restored to all nearby party members.
Level 15: Slow Dance--for 12 seconds, all enemies near the dancer are heavied, slowed, and have a vulnerability up Debuff. Costs 2 stacks of charm. 80 second cooldown.
Level 18: Disillusion--renders an enemy incapable of delivering critical hits for 15 seconds. Costs 2 stacks of charm.
Level 22: Last Dance--revives an ally to a weakened state. 8 second cast. Costs 260 TP. If in trance, it will automatically use all stacks of charm to negate cast time. If 5 stacks are used, there is no cast time, no TP cost, and the weakness Debuff is negated.
Level 26: Drain Samba--damages an enemy with a potency of 80. Damage dealt to enemy is increased by 50% and returned as HP to targeted ally. Use twice in a row to enter trance. 80 TP. When in trance, potency is 100 and TP is 70.
Level 30: Royal Waltz--slightly increases the defense and magic defense of allies in range. Effect does not wear off unless trance is exited. 6 minute cooldown. Stacks with proshell.
Level 30: Charm--confuses one enemy so that it attacks others. Effect lasts until that enemy is attacked. Does not work on all enemies. Will always grant a stack of charm. 1 minute cooldown.
Level 34: Foxtrot--removes the status ailments of party members nearby. 2.5 second cast. 120 TP. Repeat twice to enter trance. While tranced, cast time is 1.5 second and TP cost is 100.
Level 35: No Inertia--consumes 1 stack of charm every 10 seconds while active, but increases potency of healing spells by 10%. Stacks with mantra.
Level 38: Flight of the Vespe--deals damage to target with 40 potency per stack of charm at medium range. Grants one stack of charm upon entering trance always. Allies in range while dancing this under trance get a 1% extra critical hit chance per stack of charm. Stacks with internal release and wrath. Costs 80 TP and 2.5 second cast. Costs 70 TP while in trance.
Level 40: Boon-- Restore life to a target with potency of 550. Costs one stack of charm. Potency is 650 while under trance. Instant cast.
Level 42: Sword Dance-- Creates an AoE circle that deals damage with potency of 25 for 30 seconds. Enemies standing in it take 10% more slashing damage. 3 minute cooldown. 2.5 second cast.
Level 45: Rain Dance-- Restores life to all party members near by over time with a potency of 60. Costs 3 stacks of charm. Effect lasts until trance is edited. TP cost of all abilities is increased by 10 while performing Rain Dance.
Level 46: Takes Two--Creates a clone dancer that cannot be healed. Costs 5 stacks of charm and lasts 30 seconds. Only available while under trance. Clone dancer only performs the dance that the dancer was performing while using Takes Two. It is stationary.
Level 50: Midnight Samba-- Deals damage with potency of 80 to an enemy at medium range. Enemy being targeted deals 5% less damage. Costs 90 TP. On GCD. Grants one stack of charm upon entering trance. While in trance, enemy deals 10% less damage and TP cost is 80.
Level 50: Moon Kiss-- costs 2 stack of charm. For 5 seconds, the Dancer leaves a light on the ground. The light stays for 30 seconds and heals over time with a potency of 70 per tick. 150 second cooldown.
Level 54: Silent Gale-- Costs one stack of charm. Deals damage with potency of 130 to all enemies in a line in front of the dancer and silences for one second. 40 second cooldown. All allies behind the dancer receive a heal of 260 potency.
Level 55: Goddess's Teardrop-- the dancer has 8 seconds to encircle allies. If they are encircled properly, for 20 seconds they will automatically receive a heal of 350 potency after taking any damage. Costs 2 stacks of charm. 3 minute cooldown.
Level 58: Fly--renders the dancer immune to bind, stun, knockback, or other fetters. Movement speed is increased. Evasion is increased. Costs one stack of charm. Effect lasts 12 seconds. 2 minute cooldown.
Level 60: Hidden Rhythm-- Only available when in trance. Costs one stack of charm every 2 seconds. Locks target ally's HP at current level, setting that up as minimum threshold (it can be healed but not lowered).

I would rather Berserker come out before Dancer . Berserker is perfect for Warriors who want to be a DPS Warrior instead of tank imo .

EDIT: Dancer is a supporting role and we have Bard and Machinist for support roles at present.

Traditionally...though they did make DRK a tank, so DNC could be a healer.
Or also a tank. That'd be cool

DNC doesn't sound like a healer in any sense. DRK wears heavy armour, DNC has always be a buff class for the party, Deuce is an example of a recent DNC/BRD addition. There is not abilities to give DNC that sound and feel like DNC for a healer class.

FFXI begs to differ, it very much was used as a healer there. It had healing abilities, and some could match up to RDM,SCH's and even sometimes WHM's, in endgame you wouldn't see many main healer DNC's, but other than that, yeah a DNC could main heal if they knew what they were doing, I would thoroughly enjoy if DNC was healer here, I might actually main heal then XD

DNC had Curing Waltz that went all the way to IV and had AoE curing waltz as well. Also had an Esuna Waltz in XI, was called "Healing Waltz" if I remember.

I can't think of any immediately off-hand, but there have been games where Dancers or their equivalent were a healing class.
It's only because of Tactics and other games, where "support" is a REAL role and not an off-shoot of DPS that Dancer isn't in some way a healing class.

A song about 'sexual healing' comes to mind.
Especially since the dancers usually have very little clothes, they're concubines~

DNC also had fan dance which generated enmity and reduced physical damage taken. I played DNC as a tank myself and they were able to hold aggro pretty well while using their heals to recover their own health and their allies. Plus they had really great evasion which helped surviving! I personally prefer it as a tank since tanks seem to lack graceful/elegant jobs in general. After all a tank is center stage, the main attraction and focus, a perfect place to show all of the enemies a dazzling performance.

The real beauty of DNC is it can fill any role if you played it correctly. It's an incredibly versatile job that doesn't fall under any exact category.

Regardless of how it is implemented, I would just be happy to see it come back in any form. It's my favorite job in the entire FF series. It can be a healer/dps/tank or whatever and I would still be happy.

However this topic doesn't belong on general discussion, head over to the "Other-Battle-Systems" section if you want to share job idea's.
