    Make sure that .NET 3.0 is installed and up to date. IIRC, the installer was built around 3.x. Forget the details for Win7, but for Win8 only 4.0 is installed by default and you have to go into Programs/Features, Turn Windows Features on/off and enable .Net 3.0. Think it was listed as a legacy item in Win7.

    just tried that, same issue, still asking to update directx when its got the latest.
