



Made my day, rock on Rukkirii.I’m back and I relayed your question regarding elemental affinity to the dev. team and they let me know that only attribute points will be coming back and not element points. As mentioned with the crystals and shards comment I posted earlier in this thread, and of course DoctorMog’s post, elemental stats will be acquired through equipment and Materia. And remember, Materia will modify other enhancements as well, not just elemental stats!

Agreed. As a new player, being forced to allocate not only attribute points but also elemental stats is a worry to me. Like with Ragnarok Online, I'm scared that if I don't follow a specific build then I've essential ruined my character until I can fully reset said stats. At the beginning of the game, these are not choices I want to be making when I don't even understand the purpose of the stats I'm making decisions about.
Having these stats dependent on gear reduces the consequences for bad decisions and means that I can make these choices when I properly understand what they will entail.
Caliburn, you do realize you can reallocate stats in this game right? Your more restricted by geting your affinity with gear then you are via stats by far.
Someone made a comment earlier about jewelry and what not that boost affinity. So what? Now I am supposed to be forced to lose all my mind/piety I have from those items to keep my affimity with water/ice up where I like it? I do not feel thats reasonable. This is supposed to be an armoury system with player allocated stats and affinities in which players have total control over there character build and the role they play. This is a step in taking some of that which draws me to the game away.


Will this mean that if you want to be the strongest mage of fire element then you have to equip all set of gear with fire attribute?
I hope the future trend of black mage doesn't need 6x set of gear to be recruited btw... (you gotta be best at all element or you are useless.. some sort like that..) :S

Fire and Int. And don't forget MIND. Without the MP, your power is powerless ^^
But you wouldn't make great damage on wind monsters (fire is weak against wind).


Since they're removing the accessory point limit (and maybe removing a couple of accessory slots)
Does the dev team also have plans to address the additional strain on our inventory extra earrings/rings/etc will likely cause?
Like... are there plans to add more item inventory space? (not retainer.... although an additional retainer would be nice too) but my main concern is the items we lug about on our characters.
