    Event Quest : How to make them more meaningful / entertaining .

    We all know the the event quest in ff14 are meh. Lets come up with some ideas on how to make them more entertaining and more meaningful.

    A good example IMO was phantasy star universe events. Here are some quick examples for you to look at. Scroll to the bottom and look at the rewards. (Don't know how to link images)

    As you can see during the course of the event . The server is working towards a goal on unlocking all the panels and getting the reward items. Giving players an idea what to look forward to and getting on to play.

    How would this work in Final Fantasy 14
    1. Instead of it being a synth bonus switch it to a meld bonus by 10%
    2. Event reward Items could be anything but has to be exclusive to the event . Meaning you could only get this item during the event. ( Make the items sell-able )
    3. When adding new area to the event. Just open up a alternative path . Example halatali .

    How to impliment such events in Final Fantasy 14
    1. Put the limited time event quests in Duty finder.
    2. Let the event queue be like Carteneau Flats 4-8 players. Meaning quick queue times for everyone. Also let people join in progress of course.
    3. If players are missing a healer or tank . Let the players switch classes just like Carteneau Flats . Has to be within a certain area.
    4. Make sure to have different difficulty for the event. Hard/Extreme/Raid

    Main thing why this doesn't happen is because of the production time of creating advanced events like this...
    The have to produce new content for each event which makes the regular content updates come slower and/or with less actual content in them!

    Don't take me wrong, 'cause personally, I'd love to have events like these! It would make everything sooo much better!
    Sure I do agree that they could make small bonuses like certain percentage to crafting increase, they should do that.
    But creating a small but new area just for an event is a bit much considering all the content in the updates they release every 3rd month or so.

    EDIT:
    And let's not forget the "annual" expansions they were talking about doing ;P

    They could use old dungeons but just change the monster spawn layout and a little reskin of enemies would not hurt.

    Big contradiction right here. If it's sellable, you can get it without doing the event.

    Price would be pretty expensive if you bought it outside the event from another player.

    Not really. Last event, people bought cherry trees off of other players for 30k on my server...

    Different item drops from the event will out out weigh the free reward items because of rarity of the item drop will keep that price up.

    Why should event items be expensive, though? Yes, making money is fun, but events shouldn't be about padding your wallet.

    All depends . If the item drops common then it would not be expensive since its a surplus of it.

    Even if they're not common, people will have a surplus.
    "Expensive" is completely relative.
    You can't make things too rare or people just won't bother with them. That's why the events are the way they are right now: If people can't get something, they WILL complain.
    Then again, people complain when you CAN get something.

    That said, it sounds like too much trouble for too little reward.
