Game with such paying playerbase shouldn't be experiencing these problems.
Sooner or later they will have to upgrade the servers...
I still think they should consider Personal Apartment Housing since Apartment rooms have less limits than the personal/FC Housing with their wards.
Heck NPCs in the game can buy their own Personal Apartment Housing (like we saw in Allied Beast Tribe Quest) so I don't see why Players can't obtain their own Personal Apartments when it would have less demand for wards.
They can even include different sizes for Personal Apartments. After all there are different types of apartments from Studio style, convetiable style, Garden Aprtment style, and etc.

I think they should just add more space both to armory chest AND housing and bite the bullet of upping the time it takes to update the data to the server.
The con is that yes there might be a 1 in a MILLION chance of you getting a pony drop just as the server shuts down and you miss the time window of the drop getting recorded.
HOWEVER given how we're already given an exact time and multiple warnings for maintenance this REALLY does not seem like a real problem at all and those risking it are already aware of what might happen.

I believe they should rethink mixing FC and personal housing together... Because this effectively blocks ALL newer Free Companies from the upcoming FC housing content.
FCs require far less "big" areas for their housing, so they clearly wouldn't have to increase the FC housing area size quite as often. Personal housing is what's eating up all the space.
"I'm OK. This rock broke my fall."

This is pretty much how I've felt about alot of things when it comes to this game anymore:

I think instanced is really the way they should go with personal housing at least and can leave FC as it is now.
If storage space is the issue, then instancing the house won't fix anything, you will still run out of storage space.

Whether it's an apartment in a building or landed property, it probably doesn't really make a difference to the servers.
The server primarily has to store the items (and their location) in the housing area, tables, chairs, plants ... etc. What the housing area actually looks like, be it a room or a wide open field, probably doesn't impact the server much if at all. This, in 2 threads at least i have explained this, but people keep supporting the ignorant idea of instanced housing, which would only serve to have an inferior quality housing system, without solving the lack of plots. Yoshi have also answered to the idea of instanced housing explaining that it would not solve the issue.
This is a server issue and they are working on it, give them time, if you want to give constructive feedback ask them to place more wards on populated servers and make some plots reserved for FC housing only.

Well, instance housing worked just fine in FFXI from what I heard. This, in 2 threads at least i have explained this, but people keep supporting the ignorant idea of instanced housing, which would only serve to have an inferior quality housing system, without solving the lack of plots. Also I don't think it's a storage space issue. FFXI is nearly 10 years old, it's from the era where PCs had 64MiB of RAM and 1GiB hard drives. We have 8GiB of RAM now and multi-TiB hard drives. Technology has improved a ton.
