What does the cash shop have to do with this discussion? There's barely anything in it, anyway. It's not like the great variety of mage-applicable glamours that we're missing is gated behind some $3 paywall...

But yes, if they simply relaxed the glamour restrictions, a lot of the complaining would die down. Keep quest-related, Job-specific looks restricted, but free up the rest.

It's kind of amusing; folks bring up FFXI's WHM gear as examples of awesome non-robe design - but they're only the way they are at all because the armor system in FFXI is designed in such a way that it's almost impossible to create a good-looking robe. There are NO robes in that game - even the items that are CALLED robes end at the waist. It wasn't until the Abyssea before they finally added any body piece that extended lower than the upper thigh, starting with the RDM and BLM Empyrean armors - and even then, it was pretty much exclusively coattails.

FFXI's WHM armor is actually quite interesting, as it represents the closest FFXI's designers could come to displaying traditional FF WHMwear in FFXI. The traditional one-piece white robe with the red triangles on the sleeves and hem simply wouldn't work in that game, and so they needed to modify it into what they have. As for how well that was received... well, the so-called "condom hat" was a point of contention among WHMs in that game for a long time, especially since there was nothing like the glamour system we have here...

I've been a fan of this combo for awhile now. It's just different from all the other stuff we get.

There is no apostrophe in Au Ra.
Stop adding one three years later.

I love bilauds so I really wish we could get more in different styles. They pair so well with skirts and boots.

Personally, I want more gear that actually looks good, not gear that's from another job/class.
But I wouldn't mind if they let up on it. Yeah let guys wear dressies, but it is taboo if we wear metal as a healer.

Also for the CS thing: Stop putting past event items in it. It's stupid.
Wouldn't be so bad if these current events wasn't housing only when only 1 out of every 10,000 people has a house lol.

Sure, light armor for mages should fit within this game's lore:

I actually really like robes, but it annoys me that most of the mage chest pieces have some sort of poofy collar/shawl/etc. They are awful when it comes to clipping with hair compared to most physical DPS gear. :/ I'd like more simple and elegant robes that aren't foofy/frilly and have a more unisex look. Robes can look cool on guys too, and they don't need to have nun-level coverage!

That said, I am all for more options. It would be great if they added either a whole bunch more glamour gear (crafted, rewards, etc), or maybe added new basic styles of crafted 51-60 leveling gear in 3.0.

I agree. I love the sleek design, I hate poofy looking designs. Especially shoulder pads! Shoulder puffs!! Annoying!
If it must be a robe, I'd love some slim/sleek looking robes. Something that shows off the waist well. (The Eerie robe was good. Just get rid of the cowl portion and make it a nice long looking robe)
Something like this for WHM plz! Shows off the waist but keeps the neckline open and free for Chokers or other cool looking neck accessories.

I'd personally love to see more sets looking like the 90 allagan set of healing. It wasnt a robe, it wasnt armor either and still looked like what a mage would wear.
Aside from that ive been really disappointed that the Ironworks set of healing doesn't have all that "futuristic" feel the others sets have and is instead... another bland robe.

PS: Id'give everything for a body piece looking like the high allagan coat of fending for healers. I mean cmon it looks light enough to be used by a battlemage...
