Signed, simply for more variety with all gear.

Personal wish, a bit more "Risqué" style.

I am very happy to have glamour available and would be thrilled with "statless" complete sets that any class can wear, purely for glamour purposes, available to all in a huge variety of styles to mix and match/dye to ones personal taste.

We have a few now but most are not sharp looking (IMO), sailor outfit, nightgown set, highland set (lolewww), bridesmaid set (female leggings are nice in that one only) etc.....Not that its a bad thing to have these for those that do like them!! The more the merrier I say, but we need much more sharp style clothing as well.

A lot more variety in style, for all the jobs, without restriction, would be really really nice. I do realize the work involved in this...but Im still going to suggest it as it can only add good to the game.

*sigh* It has nothing to do with polygons.

Given that we don't have the ability to wear heavy armor on casters (like they did in 1.0 pre-jobs and like many NPCs can do - I don't know what the problem was with having gear be wearable by anybody but have a 'preferred' class/job/level or why they decided they needed to remove that option, as it was awesome), I'm OK with the robes. I'd just like some more variety, perhaps in length and style.

I kinda agree. The "traditional" RPG is "cloth for casters" because of practicality reasons (or too much adherance to D&D/Tolkien), Leather/light armor for Damage dealers, that have to move a lot (eg Pugilist, Ranger, Thief, or other dexterity-class), and heavy armor for Tank types. This is all fine in the realm of Pen and Paper, and early games that couldn't have more than one wardrobe change, but with todays 3D games that can actually render cloth flowing, you'd think there would be a more practical reason why all caster gear remains Cleric(full head coverings)/Sorcerer(pointy hats/tiara) cloth styles.

At least the styling aren't being taken from FFX's obsession with belts. Things got a little too silly beyond practical.

Probably had more to do with the generic animations used by V1.0 for everything. V1.0 's models were a bit more different than V2.0's

People have forgotten about the Soldiery set for BLM and SMNs already?

Anyway the designers need to think of how the caster set will look on both sexes. You cannot say you want a pretty dress and expect them to put it in, male characters have to have a version of it as well.

We also need short dresses.. While looking to glam my Lalafell, I was looking around for dresses.. There are only 2 that can be worn by all classes.
    Bridesmaid's dress
    Spring Dress

I was looking for a short one that comes down to above the knee, but there isn't one in the entire game.. so I ended up using my Lalafell clothes instead.

I don't think anyone is really saying they just want pretty dresses, I think its quite the opposite, many people want more of a "utility" look than a robey/dressy look. Its something about XIV that has really bother me, I mean XI captured a variety of mage armor so well! And XIV (ultimately XI's successor in terms of MMO knowledge) just seemed to throw all that out the door.

While I never played FF11, some of the mage gear look pretty nice in their simplicity; dare i say practicality:

I'd link the 2.0-2.5 gears, but most of you should have already seen them by now
Not enough variety of any robes in this game, long or short.

I think we could use more unique looking armor in general. That or the ability to dye them, I really dislike that a lot of armor can't be dyed (Ones that are worth it anyway)
